openssh 6.2
To the openssh community; I have installed openssh 6.2 on my mac book pro and tried to ssh to a server and the ssh session hangs. The host server shows that a connection was established but I cannot return a prompt to indicate that I am connected to the server. Can someone advise? Changing the IP Address of a Samba AD DC doesn't work - samba_dnsupdate crashes

With Fedora Samba versions 3.5 and 4.5, it does not exist. The 'testparm' most certainly does and I agree with using it. I just recently set up my new Fedora 25 box and used it after

Fedora 25 Samba and XP-SP3
Yes, I know, XP-SP3 is very old. It works for what I need it for. I have some programs that will never be updated for Win 7. Note that XP-SP3 and Fedora 14 work together just fine, so I'm guessing that a newer version of Samba is what is keeping me from logging in from XP. But, I do not know what to put in the smb.conf file to allow XP to mount a share. Here is the output from testparm:

r square values for independent variables in multiple linear regr ession model -- newbie
Hello Could you please suggest a way to find out the r square values for each independent variable while using "lm" for developing a multiple linear regression model. Thank you avneet "I have no data yet. It is a capital mistake to theorize before one has data. Insensibly one begins to twist facts to suit theories instead of theories to suit facts." ~ Sir Arthur Conan Doyle

Package 'R2HTML'
I recently learnt how to use Sweave which is a wonderful tool After which i also tried to use R2HTML as it would allow many of my colleagues who dont use latex to be able to use and edit my work. I was unable to make it work and couldnt find a way to implement it. I got some errors. I wonder if you could help me with it i have a windows 2000 OS and the version of R is "R version 1.9.1,

Data cleaning & Data preparation, what do R users want?
Hi Robert, People want different levels of automation in the software they use. What concerns many of us is the desire for the function "figure-out-what-this-data-is-import-it-and-get-rid-of-bad-values". Such users typically want something that justifies its use by being written by someone who seems to know what they're doing and lots of other people use it. One advantage of many R

Circular statistics with (direction,size) data
Dear List, I have circular data comprising direction and size for a number of observations. I wish to calculate statistics such as the mean direction and concentration for these data. I note that the CircStats package only deals with angular data (i.e. "Each observation is treated as a unit vector or a point on the unit circle". There appears to be no facility for weighting

Modelling compound logistic growth curves
Motivated by the discovery of 'loglet analysis' (http://phe.rockefeller.edu/LogletLab/) that allows one to decompose growth curves into a series of logistic equations, I attempted to do the same thing in R. SIMULATED DATA Time <- 1:200 pop.size <- SSlogis(Time,10,20,5) + SSlogis(Time,20,100,20) + rnorm(length(Time)) MY ANALYSIS results <- nls(size ~ SSlogis(Time, Asym1, xmid1,

Package "ore": Oniguruma Regular Expressions
Dear all, I'm pleased to announce the availability of the "ore" package (for "Oniguruma Regular Expressions"), which offers an alternative to base R's functions for searching, splitting and substituting text which matches (Perl-style) regular expressions. The package uses the Oniguruma/Onigmo regex library behind the scenes, and offers the following advantages: -

fit simple surface to 2d data?
I have an array of floating-point measurements on a square (5 by 5) 2d grid. The data are nominally constant, and somewhat noisy. I need to find any significant spatial trend, e.g. bigger on the left, bigger in the middle, etc. I have many thousands of these data sets that need to be scanned for 'interesting' spatial variations, selecting the datasets that are beyond some criterion of

Data cleaning & Data preparation, what do R users want?
I would agree that getting data into R from various sources is the biggest pain point. Even if there is an api, the results are not always consistent and you have to do lots of dimension checking to get it right. Or there isn't an open api at all and you have to hack it by web scraping or otherwise- http://enpiar.com/2017/08/11/one-hour-package/ On Thu, Nov 30, 2017 at 1:00 AM, Jim Lemon

Data cleaning & Data preparation, what do R users want?
Dominik (and others) If it is indeed still the biggest paint point, even in 2017, then maybe we can do something about that, with more efforts at different user interface design and try-outs with them on specialized datasets. [ The fact that in some specialties, such as clinical trials, for example, getting access to public domain datasets (and not having to use a tiny "toy" dataset,

WINE 1.2.2 via UBUNTU 10.10; Low FPS
I am running Command And Conquer Generals Zero Hour (v1.0 had to be patched to NO-CD version) via WINE. After quite a bit of fiddling around the game runs with WINE but not properly. When I run generals.exe I get the usual WINE desktop window loading up and the game starts with normal sound but immediately drops to about 1FPS. On the main menu I can hear the sound fine but still, running at

Winbind, RedHat 7.1, Pam 0.74-22 ohh so close to working
Hello, I have gone through the howto provided but I am not yet able to logon to my linux box using NT4 domain accounts. I can however authenticate to restricted shares and I can obtain groups and users via "getent" and "wbinfo -u". All I really need now is a working /etc/pam.d/login. I've tried examples from the howto as with others from the mailing list but I can not
