Settlers II 10th anniversary graphics problem
Hi! I am using Ubuntu 10.10 64bit + Wine 1.3.17. I have an Ati mobility radeon 5470 video card with the proprietary driver. I have installed Settlers II 10th anniversary, the game starts, the intros are perfect. But the game itself looking weird. There are no trees, no people, no buildings, only the footprint of the building are visible. [Image: http://img846.imageshack.us/img846/1633/err01.jpg

Acer Aspire Photographer in need of expert help
Ladies and gentlemen Can someone help me? I have just bought an AS One 120 gig+Linpus Linux as a photo storage device. It is a fabulous machine for the job as the screen is incredibly sharp and the whole deal is better than say the Epson P3000 device. I use a pair of Canon 400D's and only shoot in Raw. The default image viewer (gThumb??) is fantastic as it does a slide show at the same time

Codec Negotiation Does not seem to work as e xpected ?? Help Please !!
Steve, My Problem is not a problem, with the codec negotiation between end points. But when asterisk does it with canreinvite=no, * do not do it right. I replied with a lengthy discussion about my findings here, This behavior can be reproduced. But '*' do not seem to do the negotiation correctly. http://lists.digium.com/pipermail/asterisk-users/2004-January/032197.html

Codec Negotiation Does not seem to work as expected ?? Help Please !!
Hello, I have been trying to get my coders to work without a conversion. I have read all the available asterisk documentation and support groups without any luck. Here is my issue. (Please feel free to ask questions if you do not understand what I am talking about.) I am using Cisco ATA-186 set to g729 codec. HVM Linux just installed but does not do its first boot
Just successfully installed SLES9.3-32bit as file-backended HVM domU. Everything went OK, the distributive partitioned its "harddisk" into root and swap OK, have its grub installed into sda boot sector, but I could not make to boot no one single first time after installation. Every domU boot gives the following screen for a short time and dies: Booting from Hard Disk... Boot from

Instance variables versus local variables
This novice coder roughly understands the difference between instance and local variables thanks to David Black''s excellent book, but I''m still unclear as to when and why a either is more desirable to use. In general, I use instance variables in my controller and local in my views, but I''m not sure as to why or if this is correct. Thanks Joe Kowalski

IceCast 1.3.11: Segmentation Violation in Linux
Hello all, When I try to run IceCast 1.3.11, it starts up okay, but crashes with Segmentation Violation as soon as a client tries to connect to it. I am suspecting that there is a race condition, because when I try to strace icecast, it works fine. I am a novice level coder, so I dont know how else I can help you. :-) This is a problem I had with 1.3.10, but I downloaded 1.3.11 to see if you

SecuROM and Wine on Mac OS X
Bah! Okay, so I'm running WINE v1.1.43 on Mac OS X.6.3. Now, I went and bought myself a copy of Oblivion (Game of the Year Edition), but it's got smelly SecuROM in it, which I understand WINE supports? However, whenever I try to run one of the "protected" (from customers) programs it complains that there is no disk. The disk however is there alright, and I have a mapping for

Please help
Hi I am a novice and need to know how to compile glibc (glibc-2.0.6) under an i686, redhat 9, in order to install wine-20050310. The package does not install otherwise. Is there any other alternative (like older package versions, I don't know where to find one).

packaging flac for debian
Hmm, I wonder how the package search I originally did for it failed. I guess I have a couple wnpp bugs close, but no other work wasted. Windows and Ubuntu and Windows and......
Hi folks I am a complete noob to this Ubuntu stuff, so please forgive me if I ask a dumb Question, or ramble on.... I have been told that I am trying to run before I can crawl, but here goes..... I have a few old Windows programs that are no longer supported or run correctly on Vista or Win7, but work happily in XP. These are used for my business and are mission critical. The two main ones are

problems with winCVS
hi everybody, we have problems using wincvs with a cvsroot on a samba-server. we think that the problem is the renaming of files where the cvs user does not have write-permisson on: this is our configuration: fileserver on a irix6.5 running samba 1.9.18p8 having a share on / named 'coder'. win95 box, running wincvs, setting cvsroot something like
