Oblivion lost sound
I think that this should be an easy bug to fix. There are two situations that I could get the game working and one the sound works and in another it doesn't. When I start a new game, everything works really good. There are few issues in the graphics and the speed is reasonable good enough to play. But when I try to load a game, there is no sound. In this situation the sound works: Code:

Oblivion on Mint 12 wine 1.2.3 no opengl support compiled in
Hello all, I'm pretty much a newbie in linux, and I'm trying to play The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion on Linux Mint 12. I installed wine-1.2.3 according to the readme file (I hope). command: Code: wine ~/.wine/drive_c/Program\ Files/Bethesda\ Softworks/Oblivion/OblivionLauncher.exe gives: Code: err:wgl:opengl_error No OpenGL support compiled in. err:d3d_caps:WineD3D_CreateFakeGLContext

Oblivion inversed sound
The problem is the sound output is inversed. What should be heard on the right is heard on the left side and vice versa. So ... if a guard is on your left and he says something you hear him from you right side... This applies to all sounds not just chatter.. bonfires, horse, etc... Is there any way to fix this? Used wine 1.3.0 and currently using wine 1.3.1. Running Ubuntu 10.04 32bit. Oblivion

Strange sound problems on Hardy
I am having a strange sound issue that affects all apps on Wine. I am using Ubuntu 8.04 and have a Creative Sound Blaster Live! 24-bit. Wine version 1.0rc3 is configured to use the ALSA driver. DirectSound hardware acceleration has been enabled a long time before using Hardy and has never caused any problems until now. Regularly the sound of a game/application completely drops until the

Crackaly Audio 1.4-rc2, but not 1.3.15
So, I recently upgraded to 11.04 from 10.10, and mostly things have been fine. One of the things though is that pulse was freshly installed again, and as expected, this caused issues. So, just for kicks, I uninstalled wine, deleted my .wine, and then installed the beta package wine from the software center and out of the blue the sound worked fine! Ofcourse, games were laggy and/or impossible to

Oblivion loses sound during game play
I've filed a bug in bugzilla (http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=24271) which explains a how Oblivion loses sound during the gameplay. However, I found a workaround to it, which I posted on comment http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=24271#c5 So I wish to rename this bug to "Oblivion loses sound during gameplay". Is it possible to rename a bug in bugzilla? Another question is:

Elder Scrolls IV - Oblivion sound problems
Hey all, this will be my first post on the forum. I am new to Linux (and subsequently WINE), having only recently ported over from windows to save me an outrageous $180 for an OS (and general prodding by a friend). Thus, I do not yet know much about terminal commands, but can use them. To the main topic. As the title may have hinted at, Oblivion has sound problems. The launcher plays music

Re: Is it a wine bug if sound in a particular app doesn't work p
This is one of those nasty answers. If you are running pulseaudio switching to emulation for directsound then it works. This is most likely not a bug in wine. But a bug in pulseaudio provided version of alsa interface. If you not running pulseaudio so just alsa direct problem can be wine. But due to varation in quality of alsa drivers it might be an alsa driver bug. Please not pasuspender is

No sound in wine with Ubuntu 10.10, native sound works fine
Hello, i am a new Linux user as of last weekend. I successfully built my first computer and installed Ubuntu 10.10 and wine 1.2. I am using the hdmi out on my nvidia gtx 460 graphics card with on-board which works fine with standard pulseaudio for all tested native apps (system sounds, hulu on firefox, warzone 2100). I have tried every combination of winecfg audio tab settings as well as

Re: No Sound in Spotify with WINE
Upgrading stock Wine 1.2 which ships with Ubuntu 10.10 to Wine 1.3 Beta had now fixed audio playback in Spotify. See http://www.winehq.org/download/deb for upgrade instructions.

Only stereo instead true 5.1 sound in World of Warcraft
Hi, Im trying to get World of Warcraft to sound the same way as in win xp - i mean in real 5.1 - no duplicating channels in alsa etc... Problem is that WoW in Wine 1.1.2 detects only stereo mode as SESound.log file in wow logs says: Code: 8/18 16:22:22.509 - Detected Control Panel Speaker Mode = STEREO 8/18 16:22:22.509 - Setting WoW Speaker Mode to STEREO but in winxp WoW detects real 5.1

Re: No Sound in Wine - disable / remove pulseaudio
as i do like the pulseaudio server, i do not want to remove it completely. instead, each time i want to run a program thru wine i kill the pulseaudio. can be done by a hotkey or shortcut. ' killall pulseaudio done. Sound works. and when u want pulseaudio to run again, use this ' pulseaudio even simpler. So if you make shortcuts or hotkeys, this is a piece of cake. stop pulseaudio:

No Sound in Wine - disable / remove pulseaudio
Wine requires direct access to sound device(s) to make sound. This is true for both ALSA and OSS driver back-ends. However most sound servers are not compatible with neither of these back-ends. This also true about pulse-audio - it is not fully compatible with Wine. If you using new distro (Fedora 8, Ubuntu 8.04, SuSE 11) and do not have sound you should: 1. Report problem to your distro support

WINE 1.3.30 Rocks!
Ever since Canonical removed native OSS support (removed in Ubuntu 10.10 and 11.04), Starcraft sound has been very poor-i.e. scratchy, delayed, clipped, skipped, and sometimes no sound at all. I suspect PulseAudio had some part in it, but removing it broke so many other desktop sound functions. Anyways, 1.3.30 with directsound works perfect-even with PA enabled! The new DIB engine seems to make

Audacity in wine does not find "default" sound system
When I run Audacity for Windows (the 1.13 beta) under wine, the "default" sound system does not work. I have to select "MIME" and "Wine Sound Mapper." Wine Sound Mapper does work, but isn't wine supposed to use the "default" sound system as primary, and if that has changed, how come winecfg can't find the "wine sound mapper" sound system?
