Re: RtCW: GLW_StartOpenGL() issue
I'm having the same exact problems with my new Gainward Geforce4 card, but most of the time games just crash and hang without any error message (only with one very old nvidia driver could I get it to give an error message, and that was the same message you got).

Trouble with directx games on wine-1.2 64 bit
Ever since the RCs and the release of 1.2, I have been having trouble with directx based games not working properly. They did work under wine-1.1.3x. The problems are: video very slow and jerky, about 1 fps, objects appearing as "tears" on the screen, missing some textures, and screen going blank during certain effects. System: 64-bit kubuntu-10.04, dual NVIDIA 9800GT w/ 512 mb, plenty

Keyboard Grabbing
Hi, I've just manages to get "Return to Castle Wolfenstein" and "Elite Force" working in Linux using wine. The graphics don't work anywhere near as well as with the native Quake 3 though which does concern me a bit. My main concern is a lack of keyboard. I looked through earlier postings for solutions and have now tried the DXgrab=Y option, which didn't help.

I tried uninstalling Adobe

Jedi Academy: opengl error
This is my first post so greetings to everyone! Recently i wanted to play Jedi Academy, but unfortunately it was still asking for CD, despite i have mounted one. After patching it to 1.01 version and installing fixed binaries (from here: http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=2315 ) it gived me this error: could not load OpenGL subsystem. Here's the error message:

rtcw under wine
hi, i'm wondering if there is any way to turn on support for GL extensions.. rtcw is running under wineX with no probs, but if i turn on GL extensions in the options menu, the graphics look distorted.. (just like they did look under native-linux-q3 without having installed the NVIDIA GLX modules). is there already support for the GL extensions under wine? thx in advance, ciao, bastian

non-linear regression and root finding
Dear friends - I have a function for the charge in a fluid (water) buffered with HEPES and otherwise only containing Na and Cl so that [Na] - [Cl] = SID (strong ion difference) goes from -1 mM to 1 mM. With known SID and total HEPES concentration I can calculate accurately the pH if I know 3 pK values for HEPES by finding the single root with uniroot Now, the problem is that there is some

Thanks a lot! This was amazing. I'm not sure I see how the conditiion pK1 < pK2 < pK3 is enforced? - it comes from the derivation via generalized Henderson-Hasselbalch but perhaps it is not really necessary. Anyway, the use of Vectorize did the trick! Best wishes Troels Den 06-11-2023 kl. 19:19 skrev Ivan Krylov: > ? Mon, 6 Nov 2023 17:53:49 +0100 > Troels Ring <tring at

I won't send to list, but just to the two of you, as I don't have anything to add at this time. However, I'm wondering if this approach is worth writing up, at least as a vignette or blog post. It does need a shorter example and some explanation of the "why" and some testing perhaps. If there's interest, I'll be happy to join in. And my own posting suggests how the

Prey and OpenGL
I have installed Prey onto my pc running PCLinuxOS following the instructions in http://frankscorner.org/index.php?p=prey or http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=application&iId=3465 and tried running it. I then found I needed the nocd patch, which I downloaded and applied. I then tried cd to the app folder, then wine prey.exe with the following result: Prey 1.0.103 win-x86 Jun 10

non-linear regression and root finding
Thanks a lot, Berwin. Unfortunately, pK1 may well be negative and as I understand the literature it may be poorly defined as such, and also seems to be at a boundary, since when lower is set to say rep(-4,3) pK1 is returned as -4 while pK2 and pK3 are undisturbed. Perhaps the point is that pK1 is not carrying any information at the pH around 5. Fair enough, I guess. Only, I believe I need

One way of enforcing such constraints (well, in finite computer arithemtic only "<=" can be enforced) is to rewrite the parameters as: pK1 = exp(theta1) ##
