No Sound in Spotify with WINE
Apologies if you have also seen this post on the Ubuntu Wine forum, as I have cross posted it there. I hope this is not bad form, but I wished to have the best chance of getting some assistance as possible. Spotify has suddenly stopped working for me. It used to work fine about a month ago. The only recent change is that I have upgraded Ubuntu to 10.10 (previously I had 10.04) I don't think

Starnge error message when trying to run Spotify with Wine
Hi, I've installed Spotify in Linux following the instructions at spotify.com. When I try to start it through wine I get a strange message and Spotify won't open at all. This is how it looks: http://img199.imageshack.us/img199/8069/wineerrormsg.png Does anyone know that this strange "error"-message is trying to say? I'm running Linux Slitaz on an old Compaq Armada 100S,

Getting current Wine in Ubuntu 10.04?
I'm on Ubuntu Lucid with the Wine PPA in my repos, and wine --version still gives "wine-1.2", not 1.3.0 and on. What's the magic incantation to get the dev releases? - d.

Spotify doesn't work anymore
Spotify has been perfect since I started using it with Wine, until today. When I started the program I was offline all the time, so I tried reinstalling Wine and Spotify. Now I get to the log in screen, but can't get past it. This is the information I get: Code: fixme:toolhelp:CreateToolhelp32Snapshot Unimplemented: heap list snapshot fixme:advapi:RegisterEventSourceW

Re: Error loading mfc42.dll - failed (error c000007b)
:) Hi experts, hi dimesio Few days ago Wine/Birthday Reminders stopped to run. I suppose that it is a consequence of an automatic updating of Ubuntu and I ask an advice on the best way to solve the issue. Consider that: if I run the application clicking on it, as usual, I see the system working and stopping after tens of seconds, If I run the application by console, this is the code that I get

More on the Linux Spotify player
There is an article in The Register about the Spotify player for Linux: http://www.theregister.co.uk/2010/07/13/spotify_does_linux/ It gives a download URL if you want to try Spotify for Linux and says why the player is currently restricted to Premium accounts (because it doesn't handle adverts). Spotify displays incorrectly
Hello all, I've found some discussion of this problem on the AppDB already, but I haven't been able to solve it. Spotify runs fine under Wine but a large amount of the interface is covered in black bars, making it hard to find buttons. It looks thus: [Image: http://img812.imageshack.us/img812/6047/screenshotks.png ] This is a netbook, so the graphics chipset is likely some sort of generic

Mouse movement only in some directions
Hi, my mouse doesn't work correctly in many games (not all). I'm using Ubuntu 10.10 and the wine1.3 (from the launchpad package). This concerns Need for Speed 2, Star Trek Bridge Commander and some others. In Star Trek Bridge Commander the mouse doesn't seem to have a right x-axis and I'm not able to click on anything. Using the Keyboard to move the cursor won't do as well. In

WINE 1.3.30 Rocks!
Ever since Canonical removed native OSS support (removed in Ubuntu 10.10 and 11.04), Starcraft sound has been very poor-i.e. scratchy, delayed, clipped, skipped, and sometimes no sound at all. I suspect PulseAudio had some part in it, but removing it broke so many other desktop sound functions. Anyways, 1.3.30 with directsound works perfect-even with PA enabled! The new DIB engine seems to make

It says there is a problem with audio drivers and can't produce a sound. Can anyone help? And keep it simple. I am very new to all this. Does anyone know if there is going to be a linux version of spotify? I am beginning to think that this is my only

Sound works... but just stops
I have some issues with sound. I play world of warcraft in in Ubuntu 10.04 it ran just fine. No sound issues no problems. About the same time that Ubuntu 10.10 came out, Warcraft updated as well. NOW the sound works..but will just STOP and cut off and not work again until I reboot the PC. In an Ubuntu forum a guy was telling me he had the same issue with Starcraft 2.

Did I do something wrong?
It seems like a record, but every single program I have tried to run under wine that is not included by default on the wine install (Simcity 4, Spotify and itunes) seems to crash 100% of the time (or in the case of itunes not work correct at all) I have the latest version of wine, and I'm wondering if I did something wrong that is causing wine to fail so horribly (I have Ubuntu 11.10) Please
