I copied fallout new vegas from a friend who I'm pretty sure downloaded it illegaly. Don't know if this is relevant, just want to be sure. First of all it won't start - I have the same problem as the

Fallout: New Vegas?
Hey folks. I'm having trouble getting Fallout: New Vegas to work under Wine. (Civ 5 is working okay for me, for the record). I'm running on Ubuntu 10.10 x64, using the latest (1.3.5) from the ubuntu-wine launchpad.net repository. Launching steam works fine, and launching Fallout: NV gives me the splash screen. I can pick the setup option (and I set it to lowest detail/windowed, for

Fallout New Vegas Crash
Howdy all, I'm hoping somebody can give me a hand working out what's going wrong with Fallout. I've got the steam digital copy working through wine 1.3.21. I had it working a few months ago then got tired of it, and now I'd like to get back into it. It installed fine, and I can configure everything and start playing the game. I can get through creating my character and move around

Re: Fallout New Vegas doesn't work
I'm sorry your experience has been so bad, hopefully we can get this rectified. Based simply off you saying you had the same problem with another game, the first thing I have to ask is are you using Windows7 and do you have the games installed on your C:drive? This is known to be very problematic, especially with the UAC (or whatever it's called) activated.

Fallout New Vegas no longer working
All, in 1.3.26 F:NV won't go into the game after you select new game or continue. The circle "loading" screen appears but then then stops and that's it. There are no errors in the console as well beyond what you normally get in 1.3.24. So before I run some regression tests if I get the time I was hoping to find out the debug channels I should load to see what's going on?

Playonlinux and Office 2007
I'm trying to install MS office 2007 standard trial using Playonlinux on Wine 1.3.8. I need to install stuff like MSXML, .net 2 etc... but when I start installing them, a dialog pops up saying 'choose a prefix to patch'... and the list below is empty. If I forward the dialog just closes.

Anyone able to install Sony Vegas HD Platinum in a linux os?
So, i tried this once before and it didn't work because wine thought it was windows xp and vegas platinum only works with windows 7. I am brand new to Wine and have no idea where to even start. I followed a documentation step by step, barely able to understand it. Using winetricks i got all the stuff supposedly needed to install, but it wouldn't even run the setup.exe file. I am not

I also tried Shipp's advice and it is not working for me as well, and there is an error message being displayed. Any luck figuring this out? Thanks. m_al_com wrote: > Just tried Shipp's method, and I still get "Configuration xml file is possibly currupt" (sp) when I try to open the setup file. Team Fortress 2 Issues
Hello there, After downloading the latest version of wine, latest graphics drivers and install Steam through PlayOnLinux, I tried to launch Team Fortress 2. The initial Valve sound played and then the menu soud, but there was absolutely no video/display. Checking the processes list, hl2.exe was still running, so obviously something is going wrong here. My system should be fine, as I used to run
