Mac OSX (10.5) & wine w/ OpenGL - Info & Issues
Firstly, hello everyone!
I'v been using wine under OSX for some time, using macports to install it and it works quite nicely (except for an issue with windows sliding down the screen, which can be fixed by setting a desktop area in winecfg). Sadly I'v not been able to get OpenGL support working.
(I am using OSX 10.5.4 with XQuartz (http://xquartz.macosforge.org/trac/wiki) 2.3.0, which is

Re: OpenGL issues on OSX (wine 1.3.21)
Hi James,
thank you for your kind reply. The XQuartz folks recommend to logout and back in to have the DISPLAY variable set correctly, which I did. But I will also try a reboot to be sure.
When I start something with wine, the XQuartz icon comes up automatically, so I am pretty sure that XQuartz is used (Apple's X11 is not active).
I had another try with WINEDEBUG=+wgl, perhaps that brings

Trying to run Spelunky: OpenGL, Mac OS X and Wine
Hi. I'm an OS X user trying to run a freeware GameMaker game with Wine, and I'm running into some trouble. The game is called Spelunky (available here: http://forums.tigsource.com/index.php?topic=4017.0 ). Whenever attempt to run it with Wine, I come across a couple of errors:

DarWine & OpenGL
Hi,
For the past 3 months I have been trying to get wine working well, but have hit several obstacles.
I am on a Mac 10.5.7, using X11 2.3.3.2 from Xquartz, and using Kroneberg's Darwine builds.
The issues:
I can't seem to get OpenGL working or DirectX.
I sometimes have problems where I launch an exe, and the program runs as if it cannot "see" any other files in the same folder.

Wine Install and Uninstall Problems
Greetings all.
I have been running Wine under Kubuntu Feisty for about the last four months,
keeping it updated with the latest wine releases on a weekly basis, I use it
to run WordPerfect.
Whilst WordPerfect didn't run flawlessly, I got it to work well enough to edit
and save documents I work on at home. In four months none of the updates to
Wine changed anything in how WordPerfect

Program won't load fonts when run outside of installed dir
I'm trying get a couple pieces of software we use at work so we can replace a bunch of aging Windows machines with Linux boxes, but I'm having a little trouble. I'll start with the potentially easiest problem first.
One of the programs I'm trying to use is Lightspeed Virtual Terminal. It runs fairly well with just a couple of glitches. If I go to the directory it was installed

Best way for rgl's .onLoad to fail?
On OSX and Linux, the rgl package currently requires X11 libs to be
available for linking. Recent versions of OSX don't include them by
default, so I'd like rgl to fail nicely.
Ideally, it will load a library that doesn't need to link to the X11
libs but will still allow WebGL code to work, but that's complicated, so
I'd like a stopgap.
I can detect that the failure is

OSX 10.5 - XQuartz 2.3.3 - GLX issue
Hi all,
A couple of days ago I decided to give wine on a mac a try caused I got bored of dual booting my mac. I ve been A linux wine user for years and I had some pretty good results with it. I figured that i would have the same results on a mac but i guess I was wrong.
I got my version (wine-devel packet wine 1.1.16) from macports. Got winetricks as well.
Everything were setup fine and

Scale "up" low resolution programs to fit screen?
Some old apps and games are of pretty low resolution by today's standards, i.e. 640x480.
If I run such a program the text and interface are often very very small because of it.
Therefore, is there a way to have Wine scale up, for example, a 640x480 virtual desktop to fit my high resolution display?
In other words, the program will fill the screen, albeit looking more pixellated.
