Starcraft Patch
I've done some work getting the patches from
http://starcraft-wine.sourceforge.net/ working with CVS wine. Using the
patch I'm including, starcraft works perfectly on my machine, run as
root using DGA on a 640x480 XF86 layout.
In particular the changes to event.c enable the mouse and keyboard with
DGA. The changes to input.c make the mouse acceleration work the same
in all directions.

compilation problem on linuxppc
I am trying to install R-.90 on a powermac (4400) running linuxppc-1999.
This is a variant of RedHat.
./configure goes OK
make goes OK until it gets to dataentry.h.
Then it reports that it can't find some .h files.

R-beta: compiling R-0.62.3 on SuSe Linux
On my RedHat 5.1 machine at the office I am happily using R
installed from Martyn Plummer's RPM's of R-62.3 for RH 5.1
At home I have SuSe Linux 5.3 on my PC and as RH 5.1 is libc6
based and SuSe 5.3 is still libc5 based the RH 5.1 RPM's do
not install and work on SuSe (even though they have a test
version of glibc).
So I downloaded R-0.62.3.tgz from www.ci.tuwien.ac.at/R and

A couple problems installing 0.64 (under linux, redhat 5.2)
I'm encountering a couple problems configuring and making R 0.64 under
linux, redhat 5.2
These problems didn't occur when I build 0.63.2
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

R compiling on SOLARIS 2.6
We here at HGSI have a consultant doing some statistical work for us.
HGSI bought and installed SAS, but our consultant insists that R and
Rweb is a better solution. I do not know either package so I do not
know, hence we are ditching SAS for R and Rweb. Any comments on this
are welcom.
Now for the real problem. Rweb is very expensive (time wise). The
number of prereqs is way more than I thought

kernel32.VirtualAlloc() limitation? - "Insufficient memory to perform operation"
Hello,
capserve.exe is part of Adobe Acrobat 5's PaperCapture plugin. Runnning "wine capserve.exe" I get an
error saying "Insufficient memory to perform operation" (although all runs fine under Windows).
It seems that several calls to kernel32.VirtualAlloc(), ntdll.NtAllocateVirtualMemory() and related
functions are executed right before the error message is issued. See

PWGL, some improvements
Hi,
few months ago I started a thread about running PWGL under wine. PWGL is a "
free cross-platform visual language based on Common Lisp, CLOS and OpenGL,
specialized in computer aided composition and sound synthesis. "
http://www2.siba.fi/PWGL/index.html
However, because I had to use winetricks to install Microsoft Visual C++
2005 (it's needed by PWGL), and the many errors that I

Hi all, I'm Trevi?o (AKA Trevinho, AKA 3v1n0, AKA trevi55 ;P) it's my
first message here, also if I'm reading the ML from the archives since
long time...
I maintened a beryl-svn (then git) repository, and I'm planning to do
the same as soon as I can for compiz-git (BTW, some pre-release
packages are at http://tinyurl.com/396up9),

I've dug deeper and that was indeed the case. Here's a patch which
addresses the root cause:

Helpful Hints for OS X Users (Idiots Guide?)
Hello,
I have been busy working away at getting Darwine to run on OS X with no luck... I tried uninstalling and reinstalling many times, but I was continually getting gdi32.dll errors.
This guide was tested on OS X Leopard 1.5.6. The following guide is how I set it up. The steps may vary slightly for you. Be sure to read this whole thread before actually trying some of the things listed here,
