Direct3D natively on Linux through Gallium?
I have just read from Phoronix that Gallium is going to support native directx on Linux. http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=article&item=mesa_gallium3d_d3d11&num=1 Is it really possible? Is this true?

When will Wine use Direct3D directly?
According to http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=article&item=mesa_gallium3d_d3d11&num=1, Direct3D 10 and 11 are supported in Linux natively. Is this only with the open source drivers? Anyone have an approximation as to when Direct3D Windows games will use this instead of having the added overhead of translating to OpenGL? Any input would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Which effects are 3D and which are 2D?
AMD is dropping support for the R300-R500 cards in their official drivers: http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=article&item=amd_r500_legacy&num=1 As the current open source drivers do not support 3D, I'd like to know which Compiz effects use 3D and which use 2D. Question concerning creating .exe shorcuts.
Hey guys, I was curious about something. When Wine installs a program, that creates a shortcut after installation, it is usually placed on the desktop (as it would in Windows). So how I can create the same type of shortcut which will use the .exe's inbuilt icon; as Wine does? I know how to create a shortcut but i'd manually need to search for a .png file to use as that shortcuts icon.

CTMark - regular LLVM and CLANG compile-time tracking
Hi, this is about kicking-off regular compile-time tracking for LLVM and CLANG on the green dragon: http://lab.llvm.org:8080/green/view/Compile%20Time/ <http://lab.llvm.org:8080/green/view/Compile%20Time/>. The goal is to stay on top of compile-time issues immediately when they occur so they can be assessed rather than creeping in unnoticed. The methodology is simple: form a CTMark suite

Font issue in Half-Life 2 via Wine 1.3.0
Greetz guys, I have recently installed Wine 1.3.0, with winetricks (31/7/2010), and installed all the fonts available (via winetricks allfonts). Everything downloaded and "installed" fine. Now, I was playing Half-Life 2 on Wine 1.2 and it was working perfectly. I've installed Wine 1.3.0 and continued my game. But now, the fonts are messed (there are random letters missing from
