Tring to Build Wine from Source on OS X
So I'm attempting to build Wine from the the source files in the Git repository. After running ./configure I took note of the dependencies that were missing and went about trying to download, build and install them. I then re-ran ./configure and it still couldn't find any of the libraries I had just downloaded. My initial thought was that Macports was building the libraries as 64-bit.

Stumped with winetricks and source code
I'm using Leopard and I'm new to wine, MacPorts, the use of the terminal, and coding in general. Because of this, some of the language in the FAQ seems foreign to me and hasn't been very helpful, or its geared toward Unix users and not Mac OS X users. ISSUE#1: I managed to install wine through MacPorts and use it to run a game. I've used Crossover to install and run the same game

[Fwd: Trouble with libgsm on Mac OS X 10.6.2]
I'm far from an expert on the subject matter. Maybe some app that was written for Linux/BSD or whatever is looking at a LD_LIBRARY_PATH on its own and its nothing to do with the OS? I've never tried messing with LD_LIBRARY_PATH on OSX, but its not *supposed* to do anything normally. The OS Relies on DYLD_LIBRARY_PATH. If you change it, you have to make sure it encompasses every single

FIFA09 Error in DarWine
Hi I'm using DarWine, the Kronenberg package and I've tried to install FIFA09. I did everything as instructed, typed in my cd-key, had it install in the C Drive. After installation though, I couldn't find the FIFA09 nor the EA Sports folder anywhere. There was, though, a shortcut on my desktop. Upon running the application from the shortcut, I got a message saying "FIFA09.exe

Noob problems with Darwine
I've installed darwine 1.1.9 on my mac. I've read all of the tutorials and forums that I could find but I'm still not able to solve my problem. I imagine I must be missing something that's so obvious that it doesn't even make its way into a tutorial. I can't run programs. If I start winehelper and try to run a program (say regedit.exe) I get the errors at the end of

DarWine & OpenGL
Hi, For the past 3 months I have been trying to get wine working well, but have hit several obstacles. I am on a Mac 10.5.7, using X11 2.3.3.2 from Xquartz, and using Kroneberg's Darwine builds. The issues: I can't seem to get OpenGL working or DirectX. I sometimes have problems where I launch an exe, and the program runs as if it cannot "see" any other files in the same folder.

How do you fix that gdi32.dll error?
Hi, I'm Sam, I'm new to the mail list (and mailing lists in general) - sorry for any basic mistakes I make! I basically a noob when it comes to compiling things, and a beginner at the command line. I think I messed a couple of things up, and was wondering if anyone knew how I could fix any of them. The story so far: I had one of the old Darwine builds working ok with a couple apps,

Wine and OS X
My girlfriend is currently running Leopard and she wants to use a certain playstation game playing program. I set her up with a trial version of Crossover Office but it still has a few undesirable bugs. I'm an experienced Linux user with lots of knowledge of Wine's configuration options but not enough experience with Macs. Options?

Stick on installation: winecfg not found
Hi, I followed the installation instruction step by step with the wine 1.3.13 package. I stick at point 3.1 user guide: using winecfg. If I input /usr/local/bin/winecfg or only winecfg in the wine-1.3.13 directory, the error message -bash: winecfg: command not found appears. There is a directory winecfg under wine-1.3.13/programs/ but no executable files. The wine package is installed under

Magic Workstation - Snow Leopard
im trying to make magic workstation work under snow leopard. Magic worskation is a client for playing card games, such as magic the gathering, online. I've already installed wine and magic workstation. But i was told that i needed to use winetricks to install some fonts (corefonts), so workstation would be fully functional. But when i open winetricks and perform a seacrh for corefonts, i

maybe I am an idiot...
but I can't get Wine to work at all. I just got a mac and I want to run windows apps on it. I try to download it from this site, some of the options don't even have a download button on them, I downloaded one but I think it's for unix. It was a bunch of folders that my computer didn't know what to do with. Is there a simple layman's handbook to doing this? I tried all the
