World of Warcraft problem with Wine 0.9.31
I use Ubuntu 6.10 and just yesterday an update was offered of Wine 0.9.31 which I accepted (Maybe its my Windows roots, where every update has to be performed to keep it secure). I then found that World of Warcraft was crashing out. Unfortunately my Nvidia drivers mean that Metacity/Wine/Whatever does not redraw the screen, so I cannot actually read the error, but it is a WoW crash as such,

Odd behavior in World of Warcraft
I am just messing around with wine and World of Warcraft, I am behind a firewall and presently unable to get out to WoW, but can get to the login screen fine. The problem is that I can run it with a clean .wtf (config file) and it starts up ok with defaults (DirectX mode) and seems smooth, I exit and then launch it again and it seems to "stutter" and I dont mean sound, but graphically.

World of Warcraft Launcher.exe keeps crashing
wine-1.3.29 There's a small update to World of Warcraft today. When I run launcher.exe under Wine, it keeps crashing. I read on this forum that doing "winetricks ie7" would solve the problem, but at the end of installing IE7, the setup program says: Setup was unable to install the latest Windows Internet Explorer updates. After you restart your computer....etc. etc. It gives me

Ubuntu: World of Warcraft 3.3.5a OpenGL and Intel GMA issue
ok, I'll get straight to the point: I'm trying to run World of Warcraft (Version 3.3.5 Build 12340) and I have an Intel GMA 4500MHD Integrated chipset, and I can login just fine, but when it tries to render a character, it crashes and spits out an error via the WowError.exe, and if I don't use OpenGL, it can play, but the FPS will spike horribly at random times, and all player

Mouse cursor not visible in World of Warcraft 3.0.9
I'm running Linux Mint 6 "Felicia" and Wine 1.1.18, and I'm trying to get World of Warcraft Wrath of the Lich King working. I was able to install everything and get it running, but after the intro movie, the mouse cursor is completely invisible. It's still there, as I can mouse over buttons and click them, but I have no idea where the cursor actually is. Every so often,

I just got Wine today and apart from doing what the website told me to do about Debian-based ATI readers or something in the Software Sources application, I just installed Wine from the software center. Warcraft III is the only windows application i have on a CD that i can find, so I used that to test it. I installed it successfully and it

World of Warcraft - ATi 8.41.7
Hi, I was playing around on my laptop last night and installed the 8.41.7drivers from ATi, my laptop has an X1400 in it, not the HD2400 that the drivers were designed for so I understand some things may not function correctly and will cover the observations: 1. Pixels shaders+Vertex shaders - I have to disable these or I get missing elements from the screen, once tunred off it all renders ok 2.

Hi everyone I used to have Linux Mint 8 Helena and World of Warcraft patch 3.2.x, like less than a year ago I play on private servers (just because there's no way of payment for blizzard servers from Peru), and i had a bad experience with wine 1.0 (or 1.1.33, i can't remember - the thing is that wine 1.2 wasn't released) My FPS were like 19-20 when in windows it goes at 60-65, in

World of Warcraft Disconnects Constantly.
A couple days ago I started having this problem where I am able to play wow for only a few minutes before it disconnects. Then I must restart the wow client in order to login again or I just get automatically disconnected from server. This happens on both of my Ubuntu machines and started happening at the same time. I can reboot to my Windows Vista partition and everything runs smooth. Ventrilo
