Wine on Tiger
I'm almost certain I installed Wine correctly, but when I try to get a Windows program working it doesn't happen. The program I'm trying to install is Arena 10 (a simulation program). I've attached some screen shots. The first one is when I completed the wine install, 2 through 6 show when I tried to install the program. If you could tell me what steps to take to fix these

[Dragon Age Origins] Official DLCs "Unable to load area"
I have a Steam version of DAO + Awakening and have had no troubles with it up until now when I've bought some DLCs from official bioware store. For any DLC I bought I'm getting "Unable to load area" error right after character creation or importing (or, in case of "Leliana's song" --- right after "Play" is pressed in "Other campaigns" menu). Dragon Age driving me insane!
Hello, I read with disbelief on the Dragon Age wine appdb page that people actually have working dlc in Dragon Age Origins. This flies in the face of absolutely everything I've seen in my experience with the game. I've installed via Steam, installed the prerequisite windows crap through winetricks (dotnet30, physx, vcrun6, vcrun2005 vcrun2008, and everything else). I've manually

QuickBooks Installation Failure
I have a Ubuntu 8.04 (Hardy Heron) PC running Wine 1.0-rc4 and am attempting to install QuickBooks Premier 2007 for a customer who hates Vista and will switch to Linux if I can get this to work. However, the install program keeps failing. QuickBooks insists on having .NetFrame 1.1 installed but always fails when it tries to install it. So, I did a rm -rf ~/.wine to start fresh and then installed

My /etc/hosts file has the following entries. 5.86.189.163 sirbubbles-desktop 127.0.0.1 localhost 127.0.1.1 sirbubbles-desktop I

Proxy/Auth Problem?
The program is QuickTel, a proprietary telecom billing software. All records and data are stored on their remote servers. The application is merely a front end. When it loads, it attempts to connect to their servers. I understand this is a questionable relation to wine, but as far as I know the program has ZERO support for linux and wine (although I have sent in a ticket but have not received a

Mongrel as Windows service with normal privileges
I am trying to run Mongrel 1.1.5 with mongrel_service 0.3.4 on Ruby 1.8.6 with a "normal" user account, i.e. a user which belongs only to the Windows group "Users". The rationale behind this is that running a web server with full administrative rights (e.g. Local System) is not something that I would like to do. Unfortunately, starting the service from the services control
