Call for help with Wine 1.0 testing
Hi Folks, One key goal for Wine 1.0 is that all of its conformance tests run successfully on nearly all systems. We would really like your help in figuring out how close we are to that goal. To that end, if you are comfortable with checking Wine out via git, could you please visit this page: http://wiki.winehq.org/MakeTestFailures and follow the instructions there? (It's really simple;

Problem compiling Wine with Freetype on Ubuntu Hardy 64
I have a problem compiling Wine with Freetype. Not sure what to do: dpkg -i wine*.deb Code: checking for freetype-config... freetype-config checking for -lfreetype... not found configure: error: FreeType development files not found. Fonts will not be built. Dialog text may be invisible or unaligned. Use the --without-freetype option if you really want this. make: *** [config.status] Error 1

Gcc error during make depend/make of latest Git-Wine source.
I'm on Linux Mint Fluxbox CE 5 trying to compile the latest Git source. I previously had Wine 1.0 something from the Synaptic repos, and wanted bleeding edge so I did Code: $ aptitude remove wine and then followed the Wine + Git instructions. After the repo was cloned I ran ./configure, installed a couple dependencies and libfreetype-dev, and the config script then ran fine. Then I

Compiling wine: no sound system, etc.
Hello all... I'm trying to compile wine 1.3.21 on my Linux Mint Debian Edition machine, because I'm tired of the antique version available from the repositories. Unfortunately, ./configure always ends with a bunch of WARNINGs and I'm not sure what to do about them. Here's the list it gives me: Code: configure: libxcursor development files not found, the Xcursor extension won't

Crashes on launch with runaway blank error message windows
New, clean, basic install of Xubuntu 10.04 on older 256MB 400MHz Celeron. Wine 1.1.42-0ubuntu4 from us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ lucid/universe Packages When launching winecfg or a Windows app, opens window for app, then starts opening infinite "error" windows that are blank. Only way to stop is to restart. Is there a log somewhare? Happen to anybody else?

how to stop cursor blinking in wine GUI
Hi all wine users and developers, I have a touch question which I have been searching answers for quite a long time to configure wine but still have not solved yet. Wine is the only Windows program simulator running in Linux which I use, however one thing annoying me is that currently the cursor is always blinking in the GUI. For example, the editplus running in wine. Something it really drives

Centos 6.2 x64 after GRUB menu, black screen with blinking cursor
Dear CentOS users, I installed CentOS 6.2 x64 in a Sun Fire X4450 machine, it has 4 disks and I configured them to be a single volume (no RAID). The installer sees the volume perfectly, its 570Gb. I created two ext3 partitions, /dev/sda1 and /dev/sda2. In the logs I see they are formated correctly. All the files are installed. Then when I reboot, I get to the GRUB menu. Choose the first and only

XRDB not in our centos6.8 build
I am a bit baffled on this. We recently rebuilt all our servers to CentOS release 6.8 (Final) from a prior 6.x centos release. We ran into a couple of problems such as Java not working (just had to yum install java). It was installed, but unable to create a java machine, until I yum install java solved the problem. But now a user (the big boss) is receiving xrdp errors. And it appears

Xrdp
The VNC server just listens to the appropriate TCP/IP port and then runs Xvnc which does the actual VNC communication. Ideally I'd be able to do the same thing for RDP then the daemon doesn't get any more complicated, and a bug in the RDP layer can't crash the server. I don't know enough about how NX works but I suspect we could do the same thing as for VNC and RDP. I'm

Modo 302
Hi, trying out Modo302 with Wine 1.0 through Ubuntu 8.04, had some success so far and appears to be working nearly fully accept for two problems we seem to be having. The first is minor, and only appears to effect drop down menu where the entrys are unselectable, which was suggested maybe a Wine focus bug? We can work round this to some degree within Modo by modifying the layout. But the second

sssd problems after dc1 is no longer online
Hi all, I hope that this request for help will be the last one, for a while to come. Today, sernet support helped my sort out our DC mess, and they did a great job. However, sssd no longer works, and I hope someone here can help out. We used to have DC1, DC2 and DC3. DC1 was the classic-upgraded, first, 'original' DC, and had to be shutdown, unfortunately. So only DC2 and DC3

Microsoft Office 2007 and Wine only
First off before I delve into the purpose of this thread I want to lay down a few ground rules. This thread is only about MS OFFICE 2007 (OFFICE 12) and Wine. No Exceptions! To break it down further I don't want any information about the following alternatives which I know work, but defeat the purpose. No talk of: Open Office (Ooo) MS OFFICE 2000, XP or 2003 CrossOver Office any emulators
