Anyone out there running Dragon Age:Origins on SNOW LEOPARD?
Im currently working at it, and got as far as being able to resume a saved game, but only for a few seconds before it crashes. You can see my full progress in the AppDB. Since, despite many helpful posts, there doesn't seem to be anyone actually running it on SLeo over there, I was just wondering if ANYONE has been successful in that task, or if I'm the only lonely wanderer in the dark...

Printing from Darwine (OS X)
I'm somewhat new to wine on my Mac so I read the wineHQ wiki (http://wiki.winehq.org/Printing) and searched the forums but didn't come up with anything which I saw was an answer. I am running 1 specific app through darwine on my mac and when I try to print it says there are no printers. I saw references to something called cups-pdf but that looks like it's just a virtual printer. I

For Mac OS X users... Xquartz and RandR.
Just as a note.. Xquartz is going to have RANDR capabilities in Xquartz 2.6.0, thanks to the work of Jeremy Huddleston and Jan Hauffa. Right now on Macports if you install xorg-server-devel it will be a build with what is currently in of RandR... its still not totally finished, but it would be nice if some Mac Users could test how it works so far with Wine... if we find bugs now, it could help

Question about gamma changing...
I need to know exactly how Wine tells the X server to change gamma settings... so gamma controls in games can work. Basically I need to know.. when a game has like a gamma adjust bar, and it moves... what specifically happens behind the scenes. I need to know this because right now Xquartz on Mac OS X does not support doing this at all, and I'd like to be able to add that ability into it...

How to disable or fix Inertial/Momentum Scrolling?
We have an app (Online Bible) that works under WINE except you have to disable inertial/momentum scrolling on the Mac; otherwise when you scroll in the app's window, scrolling never stops until it reaches the end of all text in the window. Surely others have run into this behavior? Is there a way to disable inertial scrolling within the WINE app window, without having to disable it

Scale "up" low resolution programs to fit screen?
Some old apps and games are of pretty low resolution by today's standards, i.e. 640x480. If I run such a program the text and interface are often very very small because of it. Therefore, is there a way to have Wine scale up, for example, a 640x480 virtual desktop to fit my high resolution display? In other words, the program will fill the screen, albeit looking more pixellated.

Silent Hunter 4 1.5 on MacOS X/Wine 1.2-rc2
Hello all, I tried to run SH4 1.5 on my Mac (MacOS X 10.6.3 Snow Leopard) but it crashes even before the menus can be displayed because of some unimplemented D3DX call (D3DXCreateTextureFromFileExA) in D3DX9_36.dll. I used Wine version 1.2-rc2. According to the AppDB, several persons who ran it on Linux got the menus working. How is it possible that running SH4 on Linux doesn't trigger

Trying to run RIFT on OS X 10.6 and Having DirectX Issues
I've been working for a few hours to get RIFT running on my Mac Pro. I really don't want to have to get a full windows license to play the game so it seemed like a good alternative. So I pulled wine via macports (I did this today so I got wine-1.2.2). Then downloaded the game and got it patched (my wife has a Windows machine and a Rift account). This is where progress stopped. I find that

Screen goes white while playing WonderKing
Hello, I'm having difficulties running WonderKing (http://wonderking.ndoorsgames.com/center/default.asp) on an Intel Mac version 10.5.8 using Wine 1.1.35. I was able to download and install both programs successfully, but when I run WonderKing, I'm able to get to the first screen where you can check to see if you have all the files needed to run the game (I have all of them), change from

Re: Window Scrolling on OSX
Thanks for working on it regardless, all these compiling issues are beyond most of us. Everything is "easy" or "manageable" to fix as long as you know how! I don't know if it's available via Macports, but I imagine Darwine is rather tweaked for the Mac beyond merely being a straight port, I don't know if Macports would throw up similar compiler issues. I received

a clipboard problem while using R2HTML
I followed the examples of previous posts about R2HTML to practice exporting a data to a clipboard, but the result is not as smooth as I had expected: library(R2HTML) data(iris) HTML(iris, file("clipboard","w"), append=FALSE) I got an error message: > HTML(iris, file("clipboard","w"), append=FALSE) Error in file("clipboard", "w")

Morrowind GOTY on Darwine - empty resolution list?
I hope it's ok to ask about Darwine on these forums. I installed Morrowind GOTY on OSX using Darwine and it starts. But I can't set a resolution as the list of resolutions is empty. It recognises an NVIDIA graphics card but no resolutions. Any ideas how to get this working? Thanks

Requery: R 1.0.0 for Win95 and clipboard -Reply
For small datasets it would be useful to be able to copy a block of data from a spreadsheet then toggle over to R and just paste it in. If it's possible, having read.table access the clipboard (e.g. x <- read.table(file="clipboard", ...) would do the trick. Of course, exporting to a file and the reading into R is pretty easy but usring the clipboard would save a couple extra

Reading clipboard with read.delim("clipboard") crash (PR#13957)
Full_Name: Liam Gretton Version: 2.9.2 OS: openSUSE 11.1 (x86_64) Submission from: (NULL) (143.210.13.77) Reading a large number of rows of delimited data via the clipboard results in a segfault or double free error. I've tested copying from various applications, but gedit will do. This problem exists in the openSUSE-supplied 2.8.1, I've just built 2.9.2 to see if it's still there,

Is this a bug? I thought that "clipboard" could always be substituted for a filename when dealing with ASCII files. > data(iris) > save(iris, ascii=TRUE,file="clipboard") Error in file(file, "wb") : `mode' for the clipboard must be `r' or `w' Also this (where gclip is a utility found at unxutils.sourceforge.net that copies its standard input to the

SecuROM and Wine on Mac OS X
Bah! Okay, so I'm running WINE v1.1.43 on Mac OS X.6.3. Now, I went and bought myself a copy of Oblivion (Game of the Year Edition), but it's got smelly SecuROM in it, which I understand WINE supports? However, whenever I try to run one of the "protected" (from customers) programs it complains that there is no disk. The disk however is there alright, and I have a mapping for
