Pulse audo in 1.3.25+
So I used to use the winepulse patch for wine. (Yes I like pulse). But
since 1.3.25+ uses mmdevapi for audio, that patch no longer works. That
author points to a wine multimedia git, however, after installing that I
have no more sound in any wine application, and the winecfg test audio says
audio failed. How do I get this new sound server working in wine?

Can't create folders in .wine/drive_c/users/public/App Data/...
OK, so I don't know what's going on. (even with tinyproxy/firehol off the
following occurs).
Unless wine is run by root, when WoW is first loaded and trying to login,
WoW creates a Cache folder and a bunch of folders under cache for login
purposes. The Cache folder exists in: <wine profile
dir>/drive_c/users/Public/Applicatoin data/Blizzard

mmdevapi:MMDevEnum_Create OpenAL support not compiled in
Hello
I am trying out a game called Dark Void.
It works, installation, and gameplay but the sound does not.
When I run it I get the following message:

WoW/RealID
Just trying to determine if anyone else using Wine + WoW + RealID friends is
experiencing the same problem, so I can determine if it's a
router/internet/wow/linux(wine) issue.
All my realID friends show location unknown (regular toon friends properly
show the location).
Also, battle.net looses connection with realid and it takes a wow restart to
resolve.
Any input would be great.

IE7
Ok I got IE7 working, mainly because of Steam, but I wanted to see if I
could get flash working, aparently activex controls won't install
correctly. Is there a way to fix this? (i've tried Winetricks for flash but
it tells me the .exe hash doesn't match or something). Anyways, just
curious, not to use ie in linux but mainly to get flash working since steam
seems to use IE for

Xorg cursor instead of wine's (or even changing wine's default cursor)
Is there a way to hide wine's default cursor or change it or use Xorg's
cursor? (I did ask this on IRC last night, but only 1 person responding
he/she didn't think so, so I'm asking on the list just to be sure). Reason
for this is, I have found a mouse.c patch that enables a sort of HW OpenGL
cursor for WoW. (Basically shows the wine hw cursor instead of hiding it,
then with a

mmdevapi changes
looking for some input before I file a bug.. see if its needed... This is all only on Mac OS X.
On Star Trek Online, it has run in Wine since around 1.1.40 through current 1.3.26. It always needed mmdevapi set to disabled for sound to work.
Starting at 1.3.25 there is no sound... so I was told mmdevapi changes made it need mmdevapi enabled again to get sound. The problem is if i enable

Question Wine APP DB
So, i've kinda been taking a break from WoW. So been purchasing Steam games
midweek crazy deals and other things. Most of these games are a tad older.
And I've been checking the db on most of them. They have old test results,
like 1+years. Should I submit a test, or because it was gold/dilver/plat
just leave it be since it should just work?

Script to change Afinity of MassEffect.exe
So I have the stupid Affinity bug with ME2, basically on loads I need 1 cpu,
I can switch it to 2 for gameplay, but it needs to be 1 when loading,
otherwise the game crashes, known bug in windows also, but in windows
switching from 2 to 1 to 2, fixes it you don't have to keep doing it, in
wine you do.
So it's a pain to tab out, go to taskmgr , change it, tab back in, tab back

wine 1.3.28 sound issues
Hello,
After upgrading wine from 1.3.27 -> 1.3.28 I found I got no sound when a different application (which uses the sound) is running in the background.
Workaround for me is to kill all sound, load up the wine application and alt+tab back to start a non wine application.
It's not optimal but a workaround.
But I would like to understand why this is happening. Why wine could somehow not

No sound even without Pulse installed
I prefer to use Pulseaudio, but since apperantly I'm not allowed to do that anymore if I want to hear things out of Wine, I removed it for now. And guess what, it still doesn't work. I have two sound cards, the HDMI one in my graphics card and my regular one hooked up to the speakers, which is why I like Pulse because I can easily send different apps to different cards.

Natural Selection 2 (engine test) + wine 1.1.43
I usually don't mess with wine -- the program either works or it doesn't. That being said, I would like to get this game to run if possible.
This is the output from console. It says that openal-soft needs to be upgraded to v1.12 but I'm at v1.12.854-5.1.
Any help is appreciated.

No sound in World of Warcraft - intermittant.
At first I thought it was due to running Mangler simultaneously, but recently we've had no sound in World of Warcraft.
One night when I was setting up to raid that night, I started WoW, and sound worked fine. I then quit WoW, started Mangler, started WoW, had sound in the first but not the second. When WoW started this dialogue box popped up saying that a change in hardware had been detected
