Bad performance in games
Hi! I have managed to get games like Team Fortress 2 and Mirror's Edge to finally run. But only with really bad performance. If I run glxinfo | grep direct in the terminal, I get: Code: direct rendering: No (LIBGL_ALWAYS_INDIRECT set) However, if I run sudo glxinfo | grep direct, it outputs this: Code: direct rendering: Yes I'm not sure if that is relevant, but it seems a bit odd.

ATI (rv350) + open-source driver + wine gaming issues
Hello everyone. I seem to have a bit of a problem running some 3D accelerated games under wine, while using the open-source ATI Radeon driver. My graphics card is Radeon 9700, and the open-source drivers overall work much better than the proprietary fglrx. The fglrx driver allows me (in most cases) to run games like Temple of Elemental Evil (particularily) or Morrowind normally, but I can't

White Cube of Death - fglrx_7_1_0_SUSE103-8.452.1-1
Listmates (only posting to one list) Compiz has been running great with the 8.433 driver except for the libGL SONAME lockup on exit. see: https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=344135 I just built and installed the 8.452 driver. Compiz would not start with the normal fusion-icon approach that I have been using with the 8.433 driver. This is on my Toshiba P35 laptop with an ATI

[PATCH] Compiz with Fglrx without Xgl (an hack for use-copy)
As posted few days ago by Vladimir, newer fglrx ATi proprietary drivers supports the Composite extension (also if it provides buggy rendering for some apps), that's why using the non-tftp rendering you could run Compiz in fglrx drivers too without loading Xgl. However the use-copy option makes compiz do some checks that the fglrx drivers don't pass (I don't know why, since the

Blank screen while loading AMD/ATI graphics driver (fglrx) in Dom0 (Linux 3.0/3.2) with Xen 4.1/4.2
Hi, Xen wiki states that using linux 3.0 and above as dom0 works with all graphics cards. I could install the fglrx graphics driver on my desktop machine with a discrete graphics card (Radeon HD 5870), but I see a blank screen while loading fglrx on my AMD Fusion E350 machine with integrated graphics card (Radeon HD 6310). The graphics driver loads fine when the Linux kernel runs alone not as

Running rFactor - vertex shader error message
Hi I have installed rFactor with wine 1.3.8 and and updated the video memory size in regedit and mentioned in the installation guide in wine HQ but when I try to start the game a 'fatal error compiling vertex shader vs 11_blinnBumpTO' message comes up. I did not install the directx drivers when asked during the installation. The graphics card is an onboard ati HD 4200 with 128mb onboard

Blank screen while loading AMD/ATI graphics driver (fglrx) in Dom0 (Linux 3.0/3.2) with Xen 4.1/4.2
Hi, I had posted the following issue a few days ago in Xen-users but I haven''t received any answer yet. So I decided to re-post it here in hope for some solution. Best fglrx (ati) driver for wine?
A call for those ati-experimented wine gamers, which version would be the best for wine? I'm currently using ubuntu 10.10 default for them (catalyst 10.10 too), but perfomance is so low...I know ATI is not in love with wine, but at least I want to test the best posibility out there. My card is a hd 5470 mobility, help is appreciated.

FGLRX using Aiglx??
Hi! AFAIK FGLRX doesnt support glx_ext_texture_from_pixmap, and enabling composite+dri is resulting in screen corruption even with 8.38.6. Then how are you guys running it without XGL?
