Re: Can't install Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable
I've had problems installing visual c++ runtime 2005 as well. Just so you know, I'm a complete noob. This is the first time I've ever had to use wine, and I don't know the inner workings of the Linux OS at all. Any commands I've used have been written by someone else and saved on my computer to copy and paste, or I've found online and just copy and pasted. I've tried

[LLVMdev] LLVM gcc front-end versus Microsoft Visual C++ 8.0 compiler
Hi! I'm eager to know what compiler optimizes code better: Microsoft Visual C++ 8.0 or LLVM's front-end? If some tests and results are available I'd appreciate anyone who points me at it. Thanks. Compiling with Microsoft Visual C++
Dear R developer, we are trying to build DLL files using Microsoft Visual C++. As stated in readme.packages, we have to build first the import library Rdll.lib with the command: lib /def:R.exp /out:Rdll.lib. However, this command gives 2155 errors due to unresolved external symbols (ATTRIB to zlibversion) in Rexp. Could anybody tell me if something is missing in the command line or suggest any

Can't install Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable
Hello, i wanted to install a software that requires the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable environment. The software normally includes this installer, but it didn't work. I tried downloading the Visual C++ directly from microsoft, and install it. The installer started, showed briefly a progress bar, and stopped. When i go to uninstall, Visual C++ appears, but can't be uninstalled.

[LLVMdev] Interactions between LLVM and the Microsoft C++ runtime
Hello! I am trying to use LLVM 2.4 in a project built with MS Visual Studio 2008. I've been building LLVM with the llvm/win32/llvm.sln solution successfully for x86 and x64. I haven't yet tried to move to the CMake build process, so I'd be interested to hear if the following issues have been resolved on that path. The problem that I've run into is that the LLVM codebase does

[LLVMdev] Building LLVM as a shared library using Visual C++ 2010?
It seems to be that LLVM doesn't make sense as a shared library. The surface area of the interface is massive, and in constant flux. I would think in real world situations, a domain specific interface with a more focused public interface would the right solution. Silkroad Online
QUESTION: Did Wine do an update around July 31st? Or is this a problem with Silkroad? Ever since an Update on July 31st on Silkroad I haven't been able to play that game. I open up the client and I get to the start-up screen, and when I select start, hackshield pro will come up like it's supposed to, but when it's disappears, I'll be stuck at the start up window without a start

Microsoft Visual C++ available for zero cost
I just found this: http://msdn.microsoft.com/visualc/vctoolkit2003/ I don''t tend to pay much attention to Microsoft and MS Windows, so perhaps everyone else already knew about it. Basically, they have released a command-line-only version of their C++ compiler and libraries for free (gratis) downloading. I assume this version would be able to compile wxRuby, but would be

[LLVMdev] Building LLVM as a shared library using Visual C++ 2010?
There are a variety of "real world situations," some of them would benefit from shared-library packaging and some would not. Say you're building a set of tools for internal deployment in your large-ish organization. Factoring out the Clang/LLVM bits into a shared library can reduce memory footprint when running multiple tools, reduce disk footprint which therefore reduces antivirus
