Steam in Wine
Hello,
I am trying to load up Steam via Wine (Latest Wine and Latest steam client) in x86 Debian Lenny (5). So far I have managed to install Team Fortress 2 (Using the DVD based Installer) and have managed to get the UI to show up for about 5 minutes and then crash. If I attempt to startup Steam it connects just fine, then the main window shows up and this Valve Hardware Survey box comes up, and

Hey,
I am trying to get steam/steam-gaming working on my system. I have gotten the steam client working, but fail to launch games. I will be using half-life as the game I am trying to launch for this topic as it is one that most people can get running as far as i can tell.
I have a x86_64 intel i7 system with a nVidia GT218 [NVS 3100M] graphics card.
I am running Fedora 13

new sound problem
Hello All,
I've run into a sound problem with Dawn of War. It's the only game I can currently get running under wine so I can't test beyond it right now. I was having problems with the models in the game (see here: http://forum.winehq.org/viewtopic.php?t=8367) but they are working now after I upgraded my version of wine to the release candidate I got off of my openSUSE 11.2

You're probably all tired of people like me...
Alright. Fedora 13. Wine. Steam. kgo.
It's not working. Steam 'updates' to its latest release on installation (as it should) but the app quits as soon as it launches.
I ran it from the terminal and get the following error dump:
Code:

Hard Reset Demo doesn't render textures
I've tried to run demo of Hard Reset and it has two big problems on Wine. First is that mouse isn't working. You get input only from keyboard but that can be solved with raw input patch. I used the one that is working with Deus Ex: Human Revolution:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6901628/raw2.patch
but second is much worse. Basically almost all of the textures aren't rendered. It starts

Steam Crashes during game installations
Hello WineHQ
I am looking to install Steam onto my laptop. (Toshiba L655 w/ Ubuntu 11.04 64bit)
Following several of the guides I have found online I was able to install the steam platform/engine with no issues, however when I go to download one of the games from my library to install it or access the steam store. It will crash out, displaying the following error stream in my active console.

Hey guys,
I just subscribed to this list - maybe discussions related to this error
are already going on, but I couldn't find a lot when I googled it. I
will just assume this isn't known or fixed yet, let's see how it goes.
Whenever I run The Sims 2 with a No-CD crack (otherwise it won't run) in
Wine, I get the following error:

Google Chrome (ver4) not displaying web pages
I know there is a version for Linux, but using Chrome in wine is solely for testing purposes. Wine is also being run inside a VM (Ubuntu 10.04). This is wine 1.2 configured with the flag --with-gnutls. DLL overrides are for riched 20 and riched 32 (both native, builtin). Chrome is run from the command line with the options --new-http --in-process-plugins used.

Hello,
Well, first let me say - I've looked in the APP database for this game. I've tried to trouble shoot everything I've read on the site.
Here's my system:

Yesterday I downloaded and installed the latest version of Ubuntu 8.10 64 bit, and after setting up my hardware I installed Wine 1.1.12, and have been working on getting HL2 running, but with little/no success. I got Steam installed, but when it opens none of the HTML pages render (saying "HTML is currently disabled."), and when I go to the My Games tab to have it download any of the
