Problem Running DVDFab
I'm trying to run DVDFab 8.1.7.6 (latest version according to the website) on Ubuntu 11.10 and it seems to install fine but when I try to open it, either through clicking the exe or through the console, nothing happens. The Wine db says DVDFab is platinum so I'm a bit confused. Printout from trying to run in console: Code: josh at josh-laptop:~$ wine start 'C:\Program Files\DVDFab 8

Problems with wine & Crossover Pro after upgrading to Kubunt
I have not found any other comments on any of the usual forums, so it may be just a problem with my system. The newer, "QT" versions of DVDFAB no longer work with either wine or cxoffice on my kubuntu system after upgradinging to Kubuntu 11.04 . The pre- QT versions of DVDFAB still work and if I install the DVDFAB-QT versions on a kubuntu/ubuntu 10.10 system running in a Virtualbox,

Problems with DvdFab
First, I'm brand new to Linux and Wine, but I'm fed up with Windows and all the problems that come along with it. So far, Ubuntu 11.04 has met all my needs except one. I need a program to shrink DVDs to 4gb to fit on a single layer disc. I tried the native Linux programs (K9, Dvd95), but they didn't work well (K9 took over an hour, and wouldn't work unless I chose to shrink the

Kubuntu 10.10 hangs up, while using DVDFab with wine 1.2/1.3
Hello, first of all, let me say sorry, for my ugly english ! In the past, I used DVDFab 7/8 with wine 1.2 on Kubuntu 10.04. Everything worked fine, without any special configuration. I used the Blu-Ray to Blu-Ray Function. Now, i did a new installation of Kubuntu 10.10, and DVDFab looks like this: DVDFAB 7.0.9.3 [Image: http://img225.imageshack.us/img225/1065/dvdfab7093.png ] DVDFab 8.0.7.3

DVDFab not working anymore
I used DVDFab-8.0.2.2 with wine and ubuntu 10.04 for quite some time and everything worked pretty well. After doing a fresh install of ubuntu 10.10 DVDFab didn't recognize my BD-ROM drive anymore. In Ubuntu 10.04 I had to wait until the linux autorun had finished and then DVDFab started to check the disc. With Ubuntu 10.10 the linux autorun finishes but DVDFab does nothing. I also upgraded

DVDFab 8.1.6.8
Hi Not sure if this is the correct place to put this? I installed DVDFab 8.1.6.8 (latest version) in Wine 1.4 and ripped a couple of DVD's with no problem whatsoever. I haven't been able to try copying a Blu-ray disk as i don't have a drive for my laptop, i will also have a go at converting a DVD to another file via DVDFab later and get back with the result. Just wanted to share my

Wine and DVDFab Platinum 6.0.6.0
Ok, so I installed wine and DVDFab Platinum. However, when running DVDFab, I can't run it like normal because it will only mount one DVD drive at a time. So I can't just pop in a dvd and let it copy itself and write itself, I have to copy it then I have to burn it manually. Is there away to allow the bottle to mount both DVD drives so that I can read the disc with one drive and burn it

DVDFAB and WINE
HI. I tried out DVDFAB 8 using wine and it worked great. So good i bought it for $86 and change. Problem is. When i go to register it it will not work. Since then i have searched their forum and find out it will not work with WINE when you register. Some kind of copy protection. No help on their forum. Best i have seen is to use Virturalbox. BUT i do not happen to have a unregistered Windows OS

mountmgr doesn't recognize d:: link to /dev/sr0
I am a Fedora 13 user, so HAL automounts CDROMs and DVDROMs on /media/<LABEL> (this node is also dynamically created and removed from the /media/ directory as needed). II would like to assign a device drive letter to /dev/sr0 to reference any CD or DVD when inserted (e.g. d:: --> /dev/sr0), instead of having to manually create a symlink to the dynamically created /media/<LABEL>

dvd decrypter 'No Devices Detected!' error
I found this wiki page (http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=2587) as well as few posts in these forums about this very issue that I am experiencing with DVD Decrypter on Wine 1.0.1 under Ubuntu/Intrepid. The wiki recommends adding the following to ~/.wine/config (which doesn't exist for me). I make a file called ~/,wine/config and inserted the below text but it

DVD decrypter: No Devices Detected
Dear wine community I am trying to run DVD decrypter on wine. I followed instructions as given here http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=27369 where they advise to add hdd=ide-scsi to the end of the following line on /boot/grub/menu.lst , which looks like this: kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.10-5-k7 root=/dev/hdb1 ro quiet splash my DVD is on /dev/scd0 so my kernel line looks like this now:

DVD Fab HD Decrypter, surpisingly better than windows
Hello, DVD Fab HD Decrypter is a DVD copy program. The free version is limited to decrypt and store the result onto HDD only. Better than all other tools (that I tried), this program does not have problems with some tricky copy protection methods. While the best other program fails on about 50% of current DVD movies, DVD Fab HD Decrypter took them all fine. I tried to run DVD Fab HD Decrypter
