A further comment on 1.2-RC6
Running on UBUNTU 10.04 current to recent hours.
When running Simcity 4 Rush Hour with a very small suite of plugins, sometimes the graphics goes haywire. The early symptoms are RGB + black squares appearing here and there. As this develops, graphic objects start to take on primary colours. I've never let it go to a crash.
Sometimes restarting the game fixes this. You can tell because

I know this app is full of funny bugs that have nothing to do with wine, but I can't find any reference to the mysterious 'seh". What is this an abbreviation for?
The application is SimCity 4 rush Hour, but I am more interested in finding out why it has so many crashes to desktop. I had a

SimCity 4 + RH easily crashes with addons and heavy city.
Hello.
First, thank you a lot for Wine. It is really a fabulous project and ex windows users like me really say you thanks a lot each time we use Wine.
Second, I have installed SimCity 4 (with the help of PlayOnLinux) and its expansion pack Rush Hour. Many things worked quite well. I would say this game almost works well. But here are my issues :
- Game easily crashes with a heavy city with

This could be a multiple supplier problem
I have finally encountered this problem in such a way that everything went awry.
Running Simcity 4 Rush Hour with the following command line:
env WINEPREFIX="/home/john/.wine" wine C:\\PROG\~FBU\\Maxis\\SIMC\~ZMW\\Apps\\SimCity\ 4.exe -intro:off
Which brought up the game, just fine.
I opened my largest city, and very soon after that, while I was adding something to the layout, the

err:alsa:ALSA_CheckSetVolume Could not find '{PCM,Line} Playback Volume' element
I have loaded just about every part of ALSA that I can find in the distro. Do I have something missing? I do have the PCM daemon turned off, as PCM gets the blame for losing sound in my app. (SimCity 4, build 640)
Sound works fine, so is this a bogus error of some sort?

compliments to the chef(s)!
Hi,
I just updated a 7.0-RELEASE system to 7.1-PRERELEASE. Everything went
smoothly. This is on an HP Pavilion dv2600 notebook.
In particular I am beyond happy with the new linux emulation updates! I saw
all the relevant patches have been committed to RELENG_7 now so I didn't
have to do any manual patching. I take it this means 7.1-RELEASE will
launch with them?
In any case, for the

Sim City 4 Not Opening
I've installed the program just fine, and it even started and ran just fine immediately after the installation, but now SimCity 4 will not open. Has anyone had this problem of it working fine the first go round but not at all after that? If you need more info, I'll be glad to give it to you. Thanks.

Installing a program without an MSI or installer file
I have a couple of programs, one a windows .exe, the other a .java program that re user created programs that support SimCity 4.
I've tried adding them to various places around wine's file system, but no soap.
How does one do this? Does wine include the JRE to run java stuff?
I can edit the registry if only I knew what to put in there and where.

Need help interpreting event log
Well, good old Simcity 4 is now giving me event entries I've never seen before. The last one gave me a crash to the desk top, which is not unusual for this game, but I don't understand what the log is telling me. Please have a look at this and see if you can help out.

Support priority request
As far as I know, this problem has existed forever, or since I started using wine.
I've been looking at these two lines for a long time. My application, SimCity 4 does not appear to have any way to grant the request for a single buffer. No one I have asked has a handle on this.
fixme:d3d:swapchain_init The application requested more than one back buffer, this is not properly supported.

App asks for multiple back buffers, but
Seems wine isn't there yet. I think it only allocates one buffer, and my debug output indicates this is causing a problem. I got 15,000+ lines of output, and I am sure we don't want to put them on this database. However, here are the last few lines:

wine, wineserver, and x.org using 100% of CPU
Hi,
I installed Wine 20050111 on my FreeBSD 6-current (freshly updated
yesterday afternoon) to play SimCity 2000.
Whenever I start the program with "wine SIMCITY.EXE", the various
start-up pop-ups appear, as well as the dialog asking if you want to
start a new city, open an old city, etc. I get the side toolbar. The
main window where you play the game is never drawn, however; it

Getting SimCity 3000 to work in wine
Ok for some reason all the newer wine versions have a broken D3D_Surface that prevents SimCity 3000 from even starting well here is the trick I did to get it to work for me.
I used the Wine version 0.9.14 for Ubuntu instead of using the newer version and it works great.
Although I had to download a few extra dependencies to get that version of wine to work.
I remember when I could get SimCity
