Wine 1.00 the AppDB and State of the Winehq website.
In looking forward to the release of wine 1.0 I have a question about "Browse Applications by Rating" http://appdb.winehq.org/browse_by_rating.php When adding test data you can only add reports on what looks like the last 6 releases? Eg wine versions 0.956 / 0.957 /0.958 /0.959 /0.960 /0.961 Do these stat's on "Browse Applications by Rating" report this? If not what does

Wine DB question & Office 2010 & Bronze rating.
Our school only offers Office 2010 pro for students. If I wanted to install it on a friends Ubuntu computer, would there be any possibility it would work on a 32bit system? http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=17336 I noticed most people are using a trial version and not a CD installation with the full version. There might be a difference in the way it activates....

Suggestions for AppDB
I'm not sure if this is the appropriate place for this suggestion but I'd like to get some discussion on the subject. I feel that AppDB does not provide enough information about the particulars of the system and user to be of a lot of value in deciding what works, what doesn't and why. I'd like to suggest that AppDB capture some additional information: 1. User experience: e.g.

Good news Ubuntu`s update fixed problems in CoreDRAW 9
Its February 6, 2012. I just downloaded all the updates to Ubuntu 11.10 64bit. I think the updates just came out today. It was a bigger package of updates than the others I have installed in the past. I do not know what they did but whatever it was, it fixed most of the problems in CorelDRAW 9. I gave it a rating of bronze, and that was being generous, just a few days ago. It seems as thou

No audio with slackware for live station
He means that development of WinAmp 3 has discontinued. WA2 is being updated to support WA3's extra features (video, media library), and WinAmp 5 (2+3=5) is the main new development. You can read the announcement on the WinAmp forums. >===== Original Message From Stefan Neufeind <stefan@neufeind.net> ===== >On Fri, 16 May 2003 at 13:15:22, Geoff Shang wrote: > >> I

Properly rating my submissions
Hi, I just wanted to verify the appdb rules/format so I correctly make my submissions in the future. I was surprised when I received an admin edit after submitting: http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=22285&iTestingId=59851 recently. The game worked completely flawlessly for me, so I submitted it as a "Platinum" rating. However, since I had to set Wine to

Wine Feature suggestion
I don't know if this is the right place to suggest a feature, but would it be possible to integrate the app database into wine? What I mean is that when someone tries to install a program, wine would first check with the app database to see if there is an entry on it, and what its current ranking is for usability. Then it could possibly warn the user at maybe a self defined level (i.e. silver

Strange problem with Winamp 2.77 & Win2k
Hi all, here I have Windows 2000( Brazilian edition ) with SP2 installed and Winamp 2.77, with Nullsoft Vorbis Decoder 1.15b. Playing works perfect, with very low CPU usage. But if I pause or stop playing, CPU utilization goes to 100% and never gets out from there, only if I close Winamp or start playing again. I've seen this through Task Manager but looks like it's not his fault,

The Big List of Steam Games on GNU/Linux, the wiki!
Hello everyone! I've spent the last couple of months working on a wiki that contains what the thread title says: a list of Steam games that are either native to GNU/Linux or are runnable in Wine, categorized by their AppDB rankings. A bunch of people at the Steam forums have been working on it, but it looks like a lot of people here use Steam to get their games, so it seemed to make sense to

New AppDB - I am the only one to hate it?
Until a couple of days ago, I could look in the AppDB like in a tree from category to category and I had the name of the application IN ALPHABETICAL ORDER. Now there is some field to click, search by rating .etc but if I want to find my application, I have to go through 200 applications rated by last entries. I seriously don't find anything anymore? Is it a change to make use of the google

Star rating system - IE display problems
Has anyone out there implemented a star rating system as described by Dave Naffis? http://www.naffis.com/blog/articles/2006/08/31/rails-ajax-star-rating-system He really has an excellent HOWTO to set this up. Unfortunately I see problems in IE. The overlayed, filled-in rating stars are not overlaying over top of the blank stars. The overlay is starting about 2.5 stars right of where it should.

winamp bitrate (kbps) display wrong
I have noticed that when playing OGGs in Winamp, the bitrate displayed is always much higher than the average bitrate of the file. This was using the plugin that comes with Winamp v2.80 (v1.2 b7) For example, the latest oggenc encoded a song to 77kbps - I verified that this matched the filesize correctly. Apart from the first and last few seconds of the song, Winamp always displays between 85 -

client not displaying metadata on current song
Hello, I've got icecast2.31 and ices 0.4 streaming a static playlist of mp3's. I can connect with winamp version 5, and i see and hear the currently playing song. When that song goes to the next one title doesn't change, checking it in the ices.log file the information is updated appropriately. I've tried setting public to 1 in ices.conf, but that didn't do it. I'm
