WineLib some questions...
Hello everyone. I don't know if this was ever asked, if so sorry. 1.Let's assume we have a source code from some old Windos program for example: a game that useed D3D6, and was released around year 2000, we know that this program works perfectly under wine - am I correct in assuming, that - with the use of winelib - we could compile the source, and create a Linux/BSD/Solaris/whatever

Buiding my first Wine PC
Hi folks, I'm sure this question is totally stupid, but as I have no experience with Wine and I am trying switch to Linux and abandon Microsoft forever, will help to make it no that silly. I would like to install Wine and my Redhat PC with 128 Meg of Ram and 2.5 GIG HD Celeron 800 Mz right now and want to learn how to do it using someone notes or maybe someone could ?foster me? during the

Wine and Crossover
Hey, I am new here but I wanted to know what code differences are there in crossover wine and opensource wine. I know the crossover uses wineloader to load programs and in opensource wine it uses mwine. So there must be some code difference. Any help is appreciated Thnx

error message trying to plot survival curves from hypothetical covariate profiles
Dear colleagues, following John Fox' advice in this article (http://cran.r-project.org/doc/contrib/Fox-Companion/appendix-cox-regression.pdf), I'm trying to create a new data frame to examine the differential survival curves from a combination of covariates. These are derived from a Cox Proportional Hazards model I fit to data about the diffusion of a particular policy across American

Hypothetical IAX2 situation
Two * servers: *a and *b. Outside call comes in *b, and is automatically routed to *a. Someone on a sip phone connected to *a then decides to transfer the call to someone on a sip phone connected to *b. The transfer works. At this point, is *a still in the converstation? Or is * smart enough to see where the data stream is going/coming from? Thanks for any help in advanced, and sorry if

some beginnerkernel questions
Hi List, I run XEN 2 since some month (unfortunatly installed by a fiend of mine). Recently I bought some new hardware and tried to get XEN 3 running on a Debian Sarge 3.1. I installed via the Debian installer a RAID 1 with LVM. even though there are some devfs_mk_dir errors systems comes up. Now I installed XEN but system doe not boot as the boot device seems not to be recocnized by the

samba + mit krb5 + ldap hypothetical
Hi all, I've read through much of the list archives and other various docs and am now more confused than ever regarding how samba interacts with external services. All of the docs seem to assume that a Windows AD server is part of the picture when ldap/krb5 are involved. What I'm trying to do is set up a samba fileserver that Windows clients can connect to via something like: "net

A hypothetical question ....
First of all, this isn't a troll or a flame, it's a serious question. (Well, OK, two.) Is *ANYONE* known to have *EVER* gotten WINE to work with any Xserver other than XFree86? (AccelX, MetroX?) When was the last time anyone *tested* it on anything other than XFree86? I ask this because, about five years or so ago, I was using the WINE that was current at the time on XFree86 with a

Gecko installs but page faults on execute
Using Kubuntu 7.10 with a fresh apt-get on Wine, running winecfg, then doing wine iexplore http://winehq.org to install Gecko seems to work just fine, but when it finishes it goes into a page fault and then never works. Here's a dumplog of bash. > static-fiend at static-fiend-desktop:~$ wine iexplore http://winehq.org > err:advapi:service_control_dispatcher pipe connect failed >

hypothetical prediction after polr
Dear R-Help listers, I am trying to estimate an proportional odds logistic regression model (or ordered logistic regression) and then make predictions by supplying a hypothetical x vector. However, somehow this does not work. I guess I must have missed something here. I first used the polr function in the MASS package, and I create a data frame and supply it to the predict function (see below):

A hypothetical question...
I know this is casting a wide net, but If you were charged with building a large, public VOIP network with multiple PSTN gateways, the capacity to carry a lot of traffic and bill clients accurately, what pieces (brands, makes, models) would you use to assemble the solution? Assume that $$$ is not an issue. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

Predicting and Plotting "hypothetical" values of factors
Last Friday, I noticed that it is difficult to work with regression models in which there are factors. It is easier to do the old fashioned thing of coding up "dummy" variables with 0-1 values. The predict function's newdata argument is not suited to insertion of hypothetical values for the factor, whereas it has no trouble with numeric variables. For example, if one uses a

Hypothetical : Working across multiple servers??
Hypothetical question.. Lets say there is a situation where you are using the highest compression codecs for all extensions (I guess that would be G.729) and the load on a single server is overpowering the most powerful single processor(lets say SMP is not an option).. So two or more servers are required.. Or The situation is that you need fault tolerance so want to have two Asterisk

MiniMagick... Core Dump when Reszing Images?
Hi, I''m using Mini Magick and that attachment_fu plugin to resize images that the user uploads. Everything looks okay in my code, but I get a core dump every time an image is uploaded. The file successfully posts to the application, I can see that the original file gets copied into the folder correctly. It appears that it dumps immediately after that. I''m using Mongrel behind

Codec Negotiation Does not seem to work as expected ?? Help Please !!
Hello, I have been trying to get my coders to work without a conversion. I have read all the available asterisk documentation and support groups without any luck. Here is my issue. (Please feel free to ask questions if you do not understand what I am talking about.) I am using Cisco ATA-186 set to g729 codec. (But it will switch to g711 if sip-server request g711) I have 2 SIP-services to

I can compile old wine from download page, but not from git?
Hello again. The problem is - when I download wine - let say 0.9.53 from here: http://ibiblio.org/pub/linux/system/emulators/wine/wine-0.9.53.tar.bz2 I can compile it on Debian Lenny without problems, however - when I use git like this: git clone git://source.winehq.org/git/wine.git wine-git cd wine-git git-reset wine-0.9.53 git checkout -f ./configure && make depend && make I

multiple column comparison
Hello, I have a very large content analysis project, which I've just begun to collect training data on. I have three coders, who are entering data on up to 95 measurements. Traditionally, I've used Excel to check coder agreement (e.g., percentage agreement), by lining up each coder's measurements side-by-side, creating a new column with the results using if statements. That is, if

[PATCH] Btrfs: add a disk info ioctl to get the disks attached to a filesystem
This was a request from the systemd guys. They need a quick and easy way to get all devices attached to a Btrfs filesystem in order to check if any of the disks are SSD for...something, I didn''t ask :). I''ve tested this with the btrfs-progs patch that accompanies this patch. Thanks, Signed-off-by: Josef Bacik <josef@redhat.com> --- fs/btrfs/ioctl.c | 64
