EVE Online + wine 1.2-rc4 EVE Online voice problem
I Installed EVE Online under wine 1.2-rc4 with directx and corefonts? everything works fine. Sound works well, except jukebox, but the problem is that - eve voice is enabled, echo test passes well, but "join voice" menuentry doesn't appear in chat. In terminal when turning on and off EVE Voice i get this: fixme:winsock:WSAIoctl unsupported WS_IOCTL cmd (c8000014)

pulseaudio/wine question
When people have audio trouble with programs in wine the first suggestion is always to remove pulseaudio, I'm not questing that - it often fixes the problem, but I do wonder if there are plans to make wine and pulseaudio work better together? Each new version of the major Linux distros seems to make pulse harder and harder to remove without messing up the system. Outside of wine pulse is

WoW crashes my microphone.
Hey folks, Running TeamSpeak while playing WoW, I'm having trouble keeping my microphone going for any length of time. It will work fine for a while, but then suddenly stop working altogether until I force-reload ALSA. The microphone is no longer listed as being available. As far as I can tell, this only happens with games in Wine, but I've only really tested it with WoW. Any idea

WoW under wine and winecfg segfault
I am using wine actually only to play WoW on Gentoo Linux. On my desktop PC that works, but on my laptop the program crashes. This appears to be a fault in wine, because I cannot even use winecfg - it segfaults immediately: Code: $ winecfg wine: created the configuration directory '/home/helge/.wine' err:process:__wine_kernel_init boot event wait timed out Segmentation fault I tried

Re: pulseaudio under ubuntu lucid
Update on this topic. I have just bought a new computer (My previous one was 8 years old and showing its age) and I tried timidity instead of fluidsynth. Midi playback works fine on both the midi player and notation processor in Wine with Pulse Audio enabled.

Pulse audo in 1.3.25+
So I used to use the winepulse patch for wine. (Yes I like pulse). But since 1.3.25+ uses mmdevapi for audio, that patch no longer works. That author points to a wine multimedia git, however, after installing that I have no more sound in any wine application, and the winecfg test audio says audio failed. How do I get this new sound server working in wine? -- Sincerely, MacNean C. Tyrrell

Eve Premium Graphics Corruption
A picture is worth a thousand words: http://dl.eve-files.com/media/corp/aurix/eve_premium_wine_0.9.61_1.png The black columns are supposed to be spot lights on the ship in the middle. I haven't tried eve premium before 0.9.60, however, people claim that it didn't have this problem in 0.9.58. Here is a link to the thread in eve online:

EVE crashing intermittently, not sure what to try
I just installed EVE, started it up no problem and started playing. Graphics looked great, sound was perfect, then 5 minutes later EVE crashes. Hmm...fire it back up, play for a bit longer than 5 minutes and poof crashes again. I can play somewhere between 2-10 minutes between crashes. Not sure what the deal is. Running Gentoo amd64 (2.6.38) Wine 1.3.19 EVE Client 6.43 Nvidia 270.41.06

EVE Online support
Hi, as seen the Eve online support improved in the last time. The problem with that is that these things are only workarounds atm. So the next step should be that these hacks get improved so they can become real patches which are accepted by AJ. The current patchfile can be found at http://elfe.mine.nu/eve/linux/ So basicly some facts about the current EVE status:

Eve Online crashes when using two clients
When I am playing Eve Online with only one client open, it works well. I get the odd crash here and there but nothing more than what I was expecting when trying to run a windows game outside of windows. But as soon as I try and log on a second account, the crashes start. There isn't a set point at which the crashes always occur. Alot of the time, as soon as I get the second client to the

Instructions for clean Install of Wine, EVE, and Ventrilo
I built this box and was looking forward to running eve on it. 2 weeks later CCP dropped support for Linux and I haven't been able to get a decent install yet. I found some instructions last night that let me run eve in safe mode, but if I tried adding Vent, it would crash. Also, I can't get Vent to run either. Can somebody post a straight forward install so I can run this game as

Re: EVE online
That link's broken but I think you mean Easy Miner. I think that bot has been discontinued. No, but a lot of EVE Online bots are written in Autohotkey. Someone is writing a Linux version of Autohotkey now. However, EVE Online doesn't work on Wine anyway. Just buy Windows if you want to play games.

Problem with Eve online
Every time I try to open Eve-online with Wine, the tyrannis splash screen pops up and starts to open the game, but before getting in a window appears with the following text: The program Exefile.exe has encountered a serious problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. I have also tried to install Eve on Crossover for Linux professional, but the same message pops up at the same
