Wine + winebottler + azloader.exe + rs232 to usb, adapter
Ubuntu creates /dev/ttyUSB0 for me when
I plug in the usb-to-serial-adapter. I have a
symbolic-link to /dev/ttyUSB0 from 'dosdevices/com1'.
What is new in 10.04 Ubuntu is that I have to sudo chmod o+r
and sudo chmod o+w on /dev/ttyUSB0 every time before I
start the app which uses that serial line. ttyUSB0 goes away when
I unplug the serial adapter from the USB port or
shut down the

GMAT Prep Software on Winebottler
Hey All,
I downloaded winebottler so that I can run the GMAT Prep software and was successful in downloading it but i am now running into a few problems. For examples, if there is a "next" icon on the window, I will need to click on it and hit the space bar simultaneously to move on to the next page. I was able to do this on the writing assessment section of the practice test but on the

Using Wintermute with Winebottler
Hi!
I'm new here because i'm desperate.
At first i'm not sure if it's the correct forum for that, because it's about Winebottler for OS X, and not just Wine. But i thought both belong together and so you could help. If i am wrong, just mention it.
I'm working on a Mac (Lion) and running WME (Wintermute Engine Editor for Adventure game development) on Windows via BootCamp

Winebottler /c: Directory
After using the winebottler wine comb to install steam, it doesn't appear to have created the ~/.wine folder inside of which it places the windows /C: directory. It successfully installed the steam program somewhere because I can open it in the File Manager. How do I find out where it placed the .wine folder?

Need help with WineBottler
Yo fellas!
I'm having some problems with WineBottler.
I'm trying to connect to a ventrilo server with a gsm codec (I think) which isn't supported on mac os. A friend who is on the same server uses regular wine and it works for him, but are there any way to make it work with WineBottler as well? Or should I just do it the "hard" wy and install Wine? Couldn't find XCode

Running Perfect World through Wine using Winebottler
I am trying to install the game "Perfect World" (http://pwi.perfectworld.com/download) On my Mac using Wine.
After going through the obnoxious process of installing wine (for me this took forever because I am hugely computer illiterate, but through this process I learned to find info in forums AND use the terminal! Go me!), PW did not work. It installed fine, it would even launch but

R and RS232-Interface?
Hi there

Does any one of you know something about R and an implemented RS232-Interface? Are there any packages? Or is it possible to write an extensions or something like that in C/C++ ?
The problem is that i should handle the information from a measuring device via the RS232-Interface (probably you know LabVIEW, which provides this functionality). These informations should then directly be

For you old-timers, an RS232 question about data rate confirmation.
Hello all.
This is a question that I should be able to answer, but the old grey
cells aren't working. My Google-Fu must not be up to snuff, either.
I have a MOXA IP-RS232 converter that I'm going to be using over an RF
WAN and I need to confirm the actual data rate that I'll be able to
achieve. I have the drivers loaded (/dev/ttyr00) and a loopback plug on
the end of the device. I

Apc uses a propietary serial cable and your convertar for sure it's wired
standard. Refer to the following link for info.

centos RS232 to IP port program
Hi all,
Is there a method in centos
where a program can be started that listens on a given IP port
and when something connects it will transfer data from the RS232 port
to the IP port. reads and writes of course.
Trying not to reinvent the wheel if I dont have to...
Thanks,
Jerry

Powercom RS232 driver improvement/rewrite
Hello all,
Last week I rescued and UPS from the trash (it's really amazing the
kind of things you can find in the trash of the university research
labs). No manual, no cd, no cables, just the unit. It's name is
"Blizzo 500", and blizzo was just the rebranding of a spanish reseller
which has been out of the scene for nearly two years now, at least
according to the wayback

is it possible to login to a switch via RS232 / serial port from the shell?
Hi all
I have a problem switch in our data centre, which is connected to a
linux server via a serial cable. I know I can / could access the switch
from my Windows PC back at the office, using hyperterm, but trying to
access it using minicom just doesn't seem to work.
I have changed the comms in minincom to use /dev/tty0 & the baud rate to
9600, yet I can't seem to connect with
