Ubuntu Hardy + Wine + WoW = corrupted graphics
Hello all,
I've got a laptop w/ an "Intel Corporation Mobile 945GM/GMS, 943/940GML"
graphics card (I know, Intel sucks) running Ubuntu Hardy and Wine
0.9.61~winehq0~ubuntu~8.04-1.
I've had problems getting World of Warcraft to run under wine before, so
when I upgraded to Hardy I thought I would try it again. At least in
the past I could run WoW using the built-in d3d

Wine flickering
Hello all..
tried various versions...
currently using wine_1.1.42~winehq1-1_amd64
to be honest i've only tried Football Manager 2011, and not other game/app under wine, but I think it's related to the settings and not my video drivers because I've done Unigine benchmarks and everything is working fine there.
I'm using Crunchbang 10 Statler (Debian based)

[PATCH] drm/nouveau/bios/ramcfg: fix missing parentheses when calculating RON
From: Colin Ian King <colin.king at canonical.com>
Currently, the expression for calculating RON is always going to result
in zero no matter the value of ram->mr[1] because the ! operator has
higher precedence than the shift >> operator. I believe the missing
parentheses around the expression before appying the ! operator will
result in the desired result.

WoW using d3d
Sharing this in case it is helpful to any other WoW players with the opengl
issues or to anyone working on d3d in Wine.
I've been trying World of Warcraft without the -opengl tag since Blizzard
introduced their latest round of opengl breaking updates. I was very
pleasantly surprised to find the game both playable and stable in d3d. I still
have a couple graphical issues but they are not

WoW - fix pixel shader flicker
I just did a fresh install of Wine (1.3.1) and World of Warcraft. The WoW
in-game options interface has changed since the last time I needed to
messed with settings and there is no longer a box to disable
shadows/pixel shading. It is now a slider that can be moved to low but
not turned off. This was causing an odd flickering of objects (walls, trees,
etc.) where they would go back and forth

How to switch workspaces from WoW? Tried virtual desktop.
Wine 1.2.2
Xubuntu 11.04 (xfce)
HD Radeon 4650
I have just installed a new video card and I am unable to switch between my virtual workspaces while World of Warcraft is running.
With my old card Nvidia 7300 LE I was able to do this if I wanted to check something on the internet and then go straight back into the game etc.
I have emulated a virtual desktop of size 1280x1024 and I also have tried

x display issue
Hello,
I've got a new Centos5 install and got x installed with gnome on it. The
problem is the display looks awful and keeps flickering. It failed the
monitor probe and doesn't have horizontal and vertical refresh rates in the
xorg.conf file. I believe this is part or all of the issue, i took it down
to 8-bitt color and 800x600 resolution, that didn't help. The video card is

Glide-OpenGL wrappers
Hey folks. I'm certain this has been addressed before, but a google
search hasn't been terribly helpful.
Are there any windows Glide-OpenGL wrappers that are functional under
WINE? I'm trying to get Wing Commander Prophecy to run in hardware
mode, but with my configuration, Direct3D doesn't want to work (I've a
