Minimizing WoW - Painfully low FPS
I can play WoW perfectly, it is 100% stable and I can get great fps.
One problem though, when I minimize the game and I maximize it, sometimes I can just keep playing happily but sometimes thats not the case. I minimize it, maximize it again and the FPS drops to about 10-20fps (anywhere).
As you might know, this is VERY annoying, I've tried changing loads of settings in-game with no help.

Very low FPS in Wine/Ubuntu vs WindowsXP
New on Linux and Wine. I like most of what I see. Here is one problem I don't understand. I run dualboot Windows XP / Ubuntu 10.04 LTS Lucid Lynx with Wine 1.3.6. Graphics - GeForce 9500 GT with Linux driver 195.36.24
Tested World of Warcraft and compared framerates in XP vs Ubuntu/Wine. With all parameters the same (same Config.wtf file with OpenGL set), same in-game options, same character,

low FPS in some cases
I have very interesting problem. In some games in certain locations FPS falls down to approximately 2 or 3. For example in "King's Bounty: the Legend". The game starts smoothly and runs smoothly, but when I enter some locations (training dungeon for example) the FPS becomes extremely low, if I quit this location fps becomes normal again. Changing graphics options to the lowest

Source Engine games - Low FPS (Wine 1.3.15)
The AppDB lists Team Fortress 2 as Platinum. It says it should run "flawlessly out-of-the-box."
In Windows, I can max out all of the settings and get a steady 100+ FPS.
In Wine, I have to set everything to Low, and even then, I still only get 20-30 FPS, occasionally dropping down into the 0-10 range when multiple players are on the screen.
That doesn't sound flawless. Aside from

Hello I have installed Oblivion using 32-bit wine 1.3.33 on 64-bit fedora 16. However when I play the game I get only 1 FPS. Looking on the internet wine should run oblivion without a problem, so what am I doing wrong? I have run through the tweaks on the below link but to no avail

WoW: Low FPS
When I start wow and get logged into my character, my FPS will be high, like 75, then after 30 seconds or less maybe, it will drop for 20 FPS.
I've tried all the fixes I read about on the WoW WineHQ page and thats how I got up to 75 fps for that short while (before, it was like 35 fps, which dropped to 15 fps)
Some info on my setup:
Ubuntu 9.04 (64 bit)
Kernel 2.6.28-14-generic
Wine 1.1.26

Terrible FPS on Lord of the Rings Online (LOTRO)
Hey all I've been trying to get some good FPS on this game and I can't seem to get it work decently at all. According to the AppDB for LOTRO a lot of people seem to be able to push out 80-150fps on this game. I don't know how as I've scoured the internet and have tried every possible registry tweak you can imagine. I even tried niceing the process to see if it would make a

I have done some research and I haven't found any other answer but the following:

Low FPS in Wine games
My computer was working fine up until a few days ago. The games I were playing were getting 60 FPS or more. Then suddenly I rebooted to find that the games are now getting < 10 FPS.
This happened a few times already, and somehow I've managed to make it go back to normal each time (last time I tweaked some nvidia-settings to fix it). I'm unable to get it to go back this time and also

world of warcraft drops to 1 FPS after runing for a while
Dear wine users,
I have run wow under wine successfully for a while on my old computer,
but recently I upgraded my system, and I am expreiencing a baffling
problem : WoW runs great for a while, but after about 10 minutes, it
drops down to 1 FPS. This corresponds with the cpu usage of WoW.exe
jumping from about 60% to 100%. It feels to me like the game switched
from using nvidia openGL to

WINE 1.2.2 via UBUNTU 10.10; Low FPS
I am running Command And Conquer Generals Zero Hour (v1.0 had to be patched to NO-CD version) via WINE.
After quite a bit of fiddling around the game runs with WINE but not properly.
When I run generals.exe I get the usual WINE desktop window loading up and the game starts with normal sound but immediately drops to about 1FPS.
On the main menu I can hear the sound fine but still, running at

Unity 3d / Nova fps / Facebook games
Hello,
I noticed that in the last period, many gaming companies started to build free games for the online platforms. I think that in the next period of time, they will appear allot of 3d games on social sites.
My example is N.O.V.A. from facebook (developed by Gameloft). From my pov it's a very good start for online 3d games.
So, what's my problem:
I want to play nova on linux, using

Hi, I'm a newbie here, so please don't threat me too bad. :D
I wanted to ask you .. Yesterday I installed Linux Ubuntu 8.04 (Hardy) on my PC, it's the first Linux OS I use on it and I'm pretty confused, but I'm trying to make it work anyway.
I installed WoW, using this FAQ https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WorldofWarcraft. I followed it, step to step, except for the

Squeezing every last drop of performance out of DirectX
Hi Folks,
I have been using Wine for some time now to run Team Fortress 2 (and other HL2 based games) on my Ubuntu system. I was previously running Ubuntu 7.10 with an Athlon64 3800+, a 7600GT (256MB of RAM), and 2GB of DDR2 333MHz. Recently I upgraded to Ubuntu 8.10 (i386) with an AthlonX2 64 6000+, an 8800GT (1GB of RAM) and 4GB of DDR 800MHz. I was really hoping for a nice performance bump
