Borderlands GOTY seh:setup_exception_record error
I use the Game of the year edition of Borderlands, and I run into this crash when I attempt to load the game. Physx, vcrun2005 and vcrun2008 had to be installed beforehand.

Borderlands DVD Gamespy & DLC1 not working w/ patch 1.0.1, 1.1.0 & 1.2.0
This is kind of odd. I've installed Borderlands multiple times with no problems. I've played Borderlands to the very end of the game and to Playthrough 2 without any problems. The problem I'm facing is that Borderlands does not recognise the patch. This causes the game to not work with Multiplayer under

Audio echo while playing Borderlands
Hi,
I've just installed Borderlands and everything seems fine except the audio echoes (in-game, videos are ok).
I saw the topic "wine causes echo (multiple playback)" and tested with emulation and full HW at varied sample rates. Nothing seems to work.
I'm running Ubuntu 10.10 32b, Wine 1.2.2 and Borderlands patched to 1.41
Thanks for any help,
Matt

Borderlands not loading save files proerly
Wanted to see if anybody else has had this issue and, if so, how they resolved it.
I'm having an obscure problem with Borderlands that at first seems to present as my game not being saved at all - when I go to play again, the save file is there, but it just starts me at the beginning of the game (right after I get off the bus and the robot gives me my HUD). However, upon closer inspection,

I realize how old this post is but I haven't found anything else when google'ing. I get the same exact error.

Borderlands GPF
Running Borderlands GOTY on Wine 1.3.35 with WINEPREFIX=win32 on amd64
with WINEDEBUG=warn+all produces the following error log:
http://paste.ubuntu.com/779465/ (warning: 8 MB)
A tl;dr of this is GPF followed by std::terminate->abort() due to pure
virtual function call.
What am I doing wrong, as a Gold rating on appdb implies that the game
should be working?

Cannot install directx9 using winetricks
I have a problem since reinstalling my computer with Ubuntu 10.10 x64. Previously I used Ubuntu 10.04 32 bit and things worked nicely, so I am not sure if the problem is the step from 10.04 to 10.10, or the step from 32 to 64 bits.
Now when I try to use winetricks to install directx9 (needed for Fallout3), I get an unhandled page fault when DXSETUP.exe starts to run:

Borderlands (Steam Version) On a Mac Mouse Problems
I can get into everything and the menu, character selection screen, and all of that works just fine; but when the cursor is no longer visible and I start the actual game, my sensitivity is so ridiculously high, it's either facing the sky or at the ground, no matter how slightly I move the mouse. I tried changing the in-game sensitivity, and I have no idea how to fix this.
Any suggestions?

Question about installing DirectX
I have a quick question - I have been starting to test if bugs are still in the current git of wine. When trying to test a DirectX bug I came across this weird behavior and I am trying to figure out why/if there is a problem or I'm doing something wrong/different. Here's the scenario:
1. Make and install current git of wine (did with 1.1.23-xxx and 1.1.24 and currently trying with

Re: Call for volunteers
Austin - another quick question:
I've tested a few bugs using the latest compiled fresh from git (wine-1.1.23-273-gc293285) but then began wondering if I should be using the latest beta instead - 1.1.23?
I'm also confused if I'm doing something wrong because I tried to install directx 9.0c to test dxdiag and after extracting I ran wine dxsetup.exe. That failed with these errors and

LARGE_SMB_OFF_T problem
Hi all,
I have been porting samba-3.0.36 version to one MIPS CPU environment.
Firstly I encounterd the problem that the file greater than 4G size can't be
size-shown correctly at Windows XP file manager, and when I tried to
download/upload the large file (>4G) from samba server, it always failed. I
investigated the source code and found LARGE_SMB_OFF_T option (in header

Wine and /home partition woes on Gentoo/amd64
I apologize if the question has been posed before, but I did not find any similar posts by browsing or searching through the forums. Here it goes:
I have been using Gentoo Linux for a year now, and never have I had a problem I couldn't solve. However, not long ago I bought a 1 TB hard disk which I divided into 7 partitions: /boot, (swap), /, /var, /tmp, /usr and /home (yes, that's FreeBSD

PhysX
Does anyone know how to get PhysX (http://www.nvidia.com/object/physx_8.09.04_whql.html) working? Some games, for example Pirates of the Burning Sea, require that PhysX is installed. This is what I get when I run the installer:
