Can't install Indeo 5 codecs
Well, there is a game called Zwei! I want to run. But, it asks me for Intel Indeo 5 codecs. When I tried to install them from iv5setup.exe, it says me ivfsrc.ax can't be registered. And when I install parts of the codec in custom, Zwei! tells me the same, that indeo 5 codecs are not installed. How can I install the codecs or register them so that Zwei! recognizes them, well, It detects

Limiting bandwidth to around max. 8k per second - possible? Working?
Hello, I am using the latest binary download from vp32.com, just as a starter. We try using the VP32 codec in a video conferencing application, replacing Intel indeo for obvious reasons. I must note that I have considered contacting ON2 for a license of the VP5 codec, but after sending emails for amore than a week and never getting back calls after they were announced, and after not reaching

Pass-through any codecs
Hi! Maybe you can help me. I want to tell asterisk to simply pass-through any codecs that my phones support. I have to use codecs that are not popular and implemented by a third-party, asterisk has nothing to do with them. I've made a test with g722, i've set all my two snom 300 phones to support only g722 and asterisk declined the sip invitation. That is bad for me. Is it possible that

OGG question:
Here's a question I have: My understanding is that OGG is a 'containter' format, allowing for multiple streams of multiple types, of which Vorbis is only one. My question is this: Is it feasable (and, considering licencing, leagal) to create an .ogg file that contains, say Indeo or Cinepak video? (In other words, use the ogg bitstream to store the data rather than .avi).

Newbie: Getting CVS to work
I downloaded and unpacked the current WINE CVS .tar.bz2 from "Andis Wine Files". Then I go into that directory and do the following: zwei:/home/wine # export CVSROOT=:pserver:cvs@rhlx01.fht-esslingen.de:/home/wine zwei:/home/wine # cvs login (Logging in to cvs@rhlx01.fht-esslingen.de) CVS password: cvs zwei:/home/wine # cvs diff -u dlls/kernel/comm.c cvs [server aborted]: no such

Limiting bandwidth to around max. 8k per second - possible? UPDATE
Ok, we got it working with 176x144 resolution. The following string produced an image that was not falling behind too much for too long - basically a little when it was getting TONS of movement, and then catching up fast. "65 58 110 0 1 1 90 8 120 1 1 " Now, we need to get this working on a 320x240 resolution, too (as sadly VP3 does not support 160x120. Seems to be a little senseless,

Zwei Stein works! Almost.
[Rolling Eyes] I installed Zwei Stein video editor in Wine, I get a GUI and all the buttons work. I can import files and edit but when I try to render video it crashes. I would like the community to have a look at this since Zwei Stein almost works out the box without tweaking. Someone more talented than me could likely get it going easily. And let's face it Zwei Stein on Linux would rock.

asterisk tries reinvite when incompatible codecs on call legs
Hi, I just ran into what seems to be an issue on re-invites. I'm not sure if it's a bug or as designed, so I thought I'd ask the question. Here's my setup: - Asterisk 1.8.13.0 - Phone A: Polycom ip331, only allowed to use ulaw, canreinvite=yes - Phone B: Polycom ip330, only allowed to use alaw, canreinvite=yes Phone A calls the extension of phone B. After the normal call setup

Xiph.Org, IETF75, a BoF, and some royalty free codecs
Hi folks, here's a press release (yes, sorry, sorry) regarding what's going on with Xiph at the current IETF meeting. Every time we're asked 'why haven't you standardized any of your codecs through the IETF?' we explain that we've been trying for coming up on ten years. This release is about the latest step. If we (along with the other companies supporting

Video Codecs, Video Editing and Wine
I am trying to get a video editing application, Edit Studio 4, working in wine. I think I have been successful except for previewing the project once it is assembled. When I click on the "play" button for the preview, the initial frame plays for about two seconds, the screen then goes black and then, at the end of the preview, the last frame shows as a still image. I'm pretty

Theora branch and win/mac codecs
My understanding -- Monty or Emmett, feel free to chime in if you think this is incorrect -- is as follows: www.theora.org is the home for all new releases of the Theora video codec (formally known as VP3). This includes the main OGG/Vorbis integration product, which Monty is working on personally, as well as the QT and Windows codecs, both legacy VP3 versions and new versions reflecting any

When I try to dial out I get an error: Operating with different codecs [0x2 (gsm)] [0x4 (ulaw)] , can't native bridge.. sip.conf codecs: ulaw, alaw and g729
Hi, When ever I put g729 in allow for trunk the other two codecs (ulaw and alaw) stop working and I get the frame type error for them, but g729 works fine. I've cleared general part of sip.conf of codec info to be on safe side. If ulaw and alaw are the only ones allowed they work fine. Asterisk shouldn't be doing any encoding or decoding, all codecs should be passing through. Any

review of video codecs
I appreciated the link to http://www.techimo.com/articles/index.pl?photo=33&SID=12&tag=SNnb323 although, as Freun said, it was "Not really all that informative,..." Is anyone aware of a site that has a downloadable video clip that was created for comparison purposes with different video codecs (MPEG 1, 2, 4, divx, Windows, Real, VP3, VP4, VP5, and so on)? Preferably, each
