AEC learning behaviour
Hello, We've integrated the speex echo canceller into PulseAudio, and coupled with the AGC/denoiser, it works reasonably well and has been a breeze to plug in, so thank you! One thing we're seeing, though, is that the canceller seems to take some time (a few seconds) to "learn", so initially the echo is clearly audible and it slowly fades out. This sometimes occurs in the middle

Alsa: underrun occured
I've seen a couple topics that deal with this error, but they're all really old and they didn't help, so I'll just create this. I'm trying to get audio to work. I just installed Ubuntu 10.04. Sound works for everything but wine. I open winecfg to test the sound, but get nothing and along with this in the terminal: Code: err:alsa:wine_snd_pcm_recover underrun occurred Now

No sound in wine with Ubuntu 10.10, native sound works fine
Hello, i am a new Linux user as of last weekend. I successfully built my first computer and installed Ubuntu 10.10 and wine 1.2. I am using the hdmi out on my nvidia gtx 460 graphics card with on-board which works fine with standard pulseaudio for all tested native apps (system sounds, hulu on firefox, warzone 2100). I have tried every combination of winecfg audio tab settings as well as

Wine 1.1.7: Sound regression?
I have recently formatted my system in order to install Intrepid Ibex, and I am now using it with Wine 1.1.7. I did a backup of the prefixes of the games I was using in Hardy / Wine up to 1.1.5, and imported them in my new installment. The games work normally, but the sound is crackling all the time for each of them; something which was not happening in my former installment. I have not noticed

IAX Inbound Sound Quality
I have a couple of DID's through VP Connect and have been having sound quality issues on incoming calls. During the call, the calling parties voice sometimes sound like it is crackling, in other words it is not very crisp. I would liken it to listening to a radio with a blown speaker. This sound defect comes and goes throughout the call. The other person is always audible but it just isn't

AEC learning behaviour
Perhaps you could add a warm-start to the AEC, such that the parameters start near the correct values on all but the first use? Pulse audo in 1.3.25+
So I used to use the winepulse patch for wine. (Yes I like pulse). But since 1.3.25+ uses mmdevapi for audio, that patch no longer works. That author points to a wine multimedia git, however, after installing that I have no more sound in any wine application, and the winecfg test audio says audio failed. How do I get this new sound server working in wine? -- Sincerely, MacNean C. Tyrrell

Echo cancellation with different sound card for speaker and microphone
I'm developing an application that have a video conference component. For that I need echo cancellation, and is looking around for algorithms/implementations of that, and the one in speex is an alternative. In the documentation for speex I find the following sentence however. "Using a different soundcard to do the capture and plaback will *not* work, regardless of what you may

Low Quality Sound and Video settings in TF2
I have managed to get TF2 working at an acceptable framerate under Wine. However 3 problems arise when playing it. When I run the game, it always sets my texture detail level to "Low" when I can run at "High" or "Very High" with very little performance loss, but no matter what I do, whenever I exit and restart the game, it reverts the texture detail level back to

lotro - no sound or options alsa/wine 1.3.27
Pre wine version 1.2.26 sound worked fine in lotro and the in game audio options page showed the sound card in a dropdown box and titles for all of the sound option slide bars. In 1.3.26 and now 1.3.27 there is no sound in game and the audio options window does not show any sound card or titles for the sound options or various volume slider bars and all of the bars are set at minimum. Wine USB sound is OSS only?
I have a USB soundcard that I have tried to run with Dragon NaturallySpeaking. It doesn't work unless I set winecfg to oss instead of alsa. Is this normal? Am I doing something wrong? How do I get alsa over USB? Thanks, Susan Cragin

Shockware + firefox sound issues
I have firefox installed under wine (v1.5 on 20050830) and running fairly well. I have installed Shockwave + flash, both of which seem to work as good as their native counterparts (Native Windows in the case of shockwave) except that sound in shockwave is jumpy and seems to be suffering from an underrun issue. This is the output in the terminal: fixme:dsound:DSOUND_MixOne problem with

ALSA Sound Regression
Greetings, I've used wine for several years now, but I've never really gotten involved with development so I'm not sure how or even where this would need to go. I've found a regression in the latest (as of 1-1-09) git of wine; alsa sound doesn't appear to work. It did work from a version of wine I had cloned from git about a week earlier. It also works fine in 1.1.11 release.
