Wine on Snow Leopard: dumbed-down help needed
Hi, all. I just got a fresh new hard drive on my white MacBook and installed Snow Leopard (10.6). I was a happy Wine user when I had 10.5, but now I can't get Wine to install. First I tried to install wine-devel with Macports, which failed because it couldn't find the 32-bit Freetype libraries. I then downloaded the latest source and did the whole "./configure" and

Re: Wine Installation issues on Snow Leopard
I am newbies and also face the same problem
"Warning: No index(es) found! Have you synced your source indexes? "
After read an entire thread, I can overcome the problem and think that my explanation will help the others, though this thread is already 10 months-old.
In addition, the below steps to put 2 codes were not mentioned in the tutorial by David Baumgold at

Any details I should know before trying to build on OS X Snow Leopard (Darwin 10) ?
Hi,
One of my Macs is kept at 10.6.8 (with Xcode 3.2.6) because it's a
system I still wish to support. However, I'd like to move to clang on
it, if possible. I prefer to either install a precompiled binary
distribution (if it exists) or compile it on my own, but for the
moment I'd prefer to avoid installing it through macports.
Looking at the LLVM releases downloads page, I see

Magic Workstation - Snow Leopard
im trying to make magic workstation work under snow leopard.
Magic worskation is a client for playing card games, such as magic the gathering, online.
I've already installed wine and magic workstation. But i was told that i needed to use winetricks to install some fonts (corefonts), so workstation would be fully functional. But when i open winetricks and perform a seacrh for corefonts, i

No printers visible on Mac OS X Snow Leopard
I am a wine newbie so forgive me if this was already answered, but my Google foo is not good enough to solve the problem.
I just installed wine version 1.2.2 on Mac OS 10.6.6 using Macports. I also installed gdiplus using winetricks. I am not able to see any of my Mac printers on Notepad's Print Dialog. The only printer visible is "Microsoft XPS Document Writer".
I have tried to

Problem with text entry fields (Mac OS X Snow leopard)
I use Wine for the windows programs I created with Clarion (Topspeed) environment. After upgrade from Mac OS X Tiger to Snow Leopard, I can't input any text in entry fields, using English keyboard layout. When I type something, I hear the beep sound, no letters appers on the screen. I even can't paste latin letters text using shortcuts, and the context dropdown menu doesn't appear

Anyone out there running Dragon Age:Origins on SNOW LEOPARD?
Im currently working at it, and got as far as being able to resume a saved game, but only for a few seconds before it crashes.
You can see my full progress in the AppDB. Since, despite many helpful posts, there doesn't seem to be anyone actually running it on SLeo over there, I was just wondering if ANYONE has been successful in that task, or if I'm the only lonely wanderer in the dark...

winecfg Audio tab crash - OS X Snow Leopard
Hi all,
I built Wine 1.2-RC3 via Macports today on my Macbook Pro, running OS X 10.6.3. Just noticed a problem I've never had before - whenever I run winecfg and click on the Audio tab, Wine crashes. Thought it might have been something weird in my ~/.wine, but I tried with a fresh Wine prefix and still had the same problem. Any ideas?
Sample output follows:
WINEPREFIX=~/.winetest1 winecfg

16-Bit/DOS Suppor Missing?
Currently attempting to run an old PC game on my Mac (Leopard). I've installed Wine using MacPorts, which worked flawlessly. Now when I attempt to install my PC Game the terminal responds with "16-Bit/DOS Support missing."
Is there a way to fix this?

Stumped with winetricks and source code
I'm using Leopard and I'm new to wine, MacPorts, the use of the terminal, and coding in general. Because of this, some of the language in the FAQ seems foreign to me and hasn't been very helpful, or its geared toward Unix users and not Mac OS X users.
ISSUE#1: I managed to install wine through MacPorts and use it to run a game. I've used Crossover to install and run the same game

Will paginate is missing on rake db:migrate
I have a very annoying problem, when doing rake db:migrate, I get the
error message:
Missing these required gems:
will_paginate ~> 2.3.11
But the gem is not missing, It runs very well in my app. To make the
rake pass I have to comment out the gem in my environment.rb file.

dovecot2 on Snow Leopard trouble
Hello list,
I have one task to complete - to install and configure imap server on
Mac Mini OS X 10.6.8. I'm not new to dovecot, so the favorite imap
server is dovecot. Are there any special settings running dovecot on OS
X ?
I've compiled dovecot 2.0.13 with mysql5 and openssl via macports.
Configured virtual users from mysql and turned on all debug, but when I

[LLVMdev] building LLVM for i386 under snow leopard
Hello, Does anyone know how to build LLVM for the i386 architecture

--enable-shared --enable-jit && make

[LLVMdev] R600/SI build failure on Leopard (Use of C++11)
Hi Christian,
Ryan just reported to me that llvm-3.4 is no longer building on OS X Leopard (https://trac.macports.org/ticket/41548). It seems the issue is with a commit that you made back in April (referenced below) which added this to SIISelLowering.cpp:
// Adjust the writemask in the node
std::vector<SDValue> Ops;
Ops.push_back(DAG.getTargetConstant(NewDmask, MVT::i32));

"Serious Error" with Mac OS X Leopard
I've successfully downloaded and run a number of simple Windows programs using Wine. But I've had no success with any programs that require an installer. The installation process seems to work properly, but then when I try to run the app, I get
Code:
The program <programname.exe> has encountered a serious problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
