Photoshop CS2 Crash under Wine, "Unable to continue because of a hardware or system error. Sorry, but this error is unrecoverable."
I recently came across a post (circa jan-feb 2008) where a user had encountered a fatal and unrecoverable crash when starting Photoshop for the second or subsequent time. I've noticed that this issue has happened to many people, myself included while installing it on someone's system today, and that, while there is a short-term workaround (noted below), nobody has yet posted an actual

Running Portable Photoshop with Wine
Hey everyone, I'm new to this forum and new to Linux and anything having to do with it. I'm actually trying to solve a friend's problem. My apologies if anything I'm about to say turns out to be grossly ignorant... My friend is running Kubuntu on a Aspire One that has about 500 megs of space on it, most of which is taken up by the OS I'm assuming. She seems to have less than

Upgrading breaks previous configuration?
So far, I have been installing each windows program to a separate wine directory, thus avoiding that one program creates problems for another. For instance Photoshop CS 2 is in .photoshop_wine, C?sar 3 is .caesar3_wine, etc. So far I have had a number of programs running great, no problems. But today I got an error that I tried googling to no avail: Code: 12:46_acer6292:~$ photoshop Warning:

Wine and multiple X screens at different resolutions
Hello! I am a great fan of wine, and find it gets better every day. However, there is one problem that is almost make or break for me that I wonder is something just on my end or a genuine bug. I represent a small subset of wine users: those who have two LCD screens at different aspect ratios. I have a 20 inch 4:3 LCD at 1280x1024 and a 22 widescreen LCD at 1680x1050. Through Nvidia's control

Adobe Photoshop CS2
Here is a quote from my friend. He uses XP most of the time because he hasn't been able to get the newest Adobe Photoshop working in Debian Sarge 3.1 with Gnome. He tried both cedega and the newest version of wine to get Photoshop working. Has anyone else got it working or know about getting it working? "I copied all of the DLL's from the windows system32 directory into the wine

Serious problems with Wine o__O
Well, my OS is Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy Heron, so you can keep track. I used Wine to be able to use Photoshop CS2, but there was a little setback. I reinstalled Wine and Photoshop several times and now even though I install it, it just wont work, nor open any .exe files. Also I don't know why I removed the Wine menu (Applications>Wine) from the tab and no matter what I do, it's not comming

Photoshop leaving toolboxes behind
Hi, I was going to file a bug report for this, but I thought I'd check here first, because I'm not sure if this is a wine bug, or something to do with Photoshop or Compiz. Most times when I close Photoshop CS2, I'm getting the one or more of the tool pallets left behind on my desktop. I have found no way to get rid of them - apart from restarting the X server. I tried xkill but it

Preventing Wine from creating shortcuts
Hey, I'm new to the forums but by no means a noob but it's come to the point lately where I'm creating scripts (bash mixed with autoit) where I create a new bottle, silently install the program and then do any fixes etc in the script making it all completely automated (as i tend to re-install my system a lot) The issue I'm having though is the shortcuts wine creates Desktop

CentOS 5.2 - Nautilus - file types are not associated with an action and icons are not displayed
Hi all, I use CentOS 5.2 as a desktop and the Gnome Nautilus doesn't display icons related to the file types and all associated actions ("open with") are lost. It is so bad, that the desktop shortcuts are displayed as ordinary files "Filesystem.desktop" or "openoffice.org-1.9-calc.desktop", and when I click on them, the Nautilus wants to know what it should
