Installing latest Wine on Debian
I installed Wine using the Lamaresh repo for Debian, but unlike openSUSE's repos, I found out that it installs and old version: 1.1.42. Is there some repo for Debian where I can install latest version from? Or should I better try building it from source?
Sorry if it's a silly question. Thanks.

Debian repos and apt key
http://www.winehq.org/download/deblenny helpfully points out that lamaresh.net and not wine.budgetdedicated.com should be used as the source for wine packages for Debian.
However, there are some problems. First the page provides less useful information than is provided by http://www.winehq.org/download/deb, which still exists and unhelpfully recommends wine.budgetdedicated.com.
The other problem

Test network under wine
Hello,
firstly, I'm sorry for posting in the 3 lists ... I don't know if it is a
bug or if some developer can help me.
I comment my problem, I've used a game named FML (football manager live)
with wine previously, it worked (months ago), I don't remember the version
of FML client and wine version :-( I would want play to FML again, I've
downloaded the new version of fml client

Re: [virt-tools-list] libvirt/virt-manager source integration with xen
I'm have a lot of difficulty implementing the actions suggested so far by
those who've chimed in about this issue. I've resolved now to do the
following:
* make clean and make world on xen source, and capture build logs
* look up libxl build logs and see what compiler flags were used
* repeat above for libvirt source and virt-manager source
* report back on the compiler flag

how to update r to lattest version on debian lenny?
Hi all,
how do you update R on Debian lenny? I have tried to re-install r-base after adding deb http://<favorite-cran-mirror>/bin/linux/debian lenny-cran/ to my backport lists but it keeps installing R 2.7.1.
What should I be doing to get the lattest R release? I need it to install a package (plyr)
Thanks,
David.

XCP- Unable to Import Lenny.xva
I''m trying to follow the guide to set up Lenny 5.0 VMs on my newly installed
XCP machine. Following what the wiki suggests I downloaded the lenny.xva
from http://www.xen.org/files/XenCloud/Software/lenny.xva, saving to domain
zero. (note that this file was updated March 1, 2011)
When I try to import lenny.xva to my Xen Cloud Platform host using the
command:

Testing Xen on Lenny
Hello, I've been asked to test this, can anyone help me?
The platform I would like to test on:
- Lenny/amd64
- Intel VT-i (Xen HVM support)
I've looked over the various threads and wiki pages on the issue and I
thought I would try to summarise it more concisely:
dom0 (32 bit):
- regular install using Lenny CD, Debian Installer, i386
- install the kernel package from etch,

R slower after etch->lenny upgrade
Hi. Last week I updated from 32 bit etch to 32 bit lenny on an AMD SMP
machine. I first cloned the system disk to an identical drive, and
updated the cloned drive. I still have the etch install untouched on
the previous drive, which has allowed me to do some testing. After the
update R has slowed down significantly. A user brought this to my
attention, and at this point we have only

plans for lenny-cran? can I help?
Hi,
I'm running a highschool network with Debian etch and the etch-cran
"backports" on top of it. Being bio-informatics, the newest R is essential to
us.
I did some upgrading experiments; switching to ubuntu is not
an option, neither is fetching the sid debs for r.
When trying to upgrade from etch to lenny with etch-cran packages installed
things block on etch-cran dependencies.

Install latest R version from apt on Lenny

May be you should add in your mail the file :
/etc/apt/sources.list (I suppose there might be a typo, as IT addresses are long and booring, and AFAIK, correcting a typo one made is **very** difficult).

Lenny repository disappeared
Hi,
I tried to add the Debian Lenny repository for Wine to my apt sources, so I could enjoy a newer release of wine than the 1.0.x version Debian offers. However, when I tried to update repositories, I got a 404, and, upon investigating, realised that there is no Lenny distribution whatsoever on the Wine apt server! (It is, however, mentioned in the documentation for installing Debian/Ubuntu

installing package reshape and plyr on Debian Lenny
Hi all,
has anyone tried and possibly succeeded in installing "reshape" package on Debian Lenny? I have a permanent failure because i cannot find the "plyr" package. I tried 10 mirrors. I contacted Hadley Wickham and James Long who seemed to have been closed to do it but it didn't work (meaning so far I haven't the answer from them). So has anyone any ideas as how to
