World of Warcraft on Intel GM96x
Hi,
like many others I am trying to run wow with wine, but unlike many others, it doesn't really work ;)
Already tried to fix with this Howto:
http://www.wowwiki.com/Linux/Wine
Nevertheless, I get to the login (all behind is red, no image like it should be) and to the character selection (only buttons visible, but no labels on them). I even get into the game, seeing the panels, but the

Problems with World of Warcraft since 0.9.48 update
Hi all,
I have installed WoW with 0.9.47 (actually also 0.9.45 and 0.9.46 on
previous Linux installs) and it was working fairly well (with the due
modification to the registry, WoW config file, and nice -15), but I
started to have few problems since I have updated wine to 0.9.48.
The first and most annoying problem is that every 15-25 minutes WoW
freeze; I have to kill it and reopen it. That is

WOW "fixes"
I've run across the following two articles on the wow wiki. The first link
is the general page for Linux/Wine. The sound and voice chat is what I'm
most interested in about the second link. Can anyone comment on how current
and useful these tips are? It's nice to know that Blizzard knows about and
actually seems to "care" about Linux users, but I really do NOT want to

World of Warcraft error. "Disconnected from server."
Hey all!
I'm running Ubuntu Hardy Heron 8.04, the 32-bit version on a 64-bit computer. I installed the latest wine (1.0) from the terminal just by going:
Code:
sudo apt-get install wine
It installed perfectly and seems to work as it should.
I then downloaded the World of Warcraft trial from wow-europe, and installed it with wine by right clicking on it and selecting wine.
I am able to

World of Warcraft - ATi 8.471
I just revived my LG laptop's Ubuntu install and have put the latest ATi driver on it. 3D acceleration works fine as does compiz.
I copied over WoW to test and right now, I have to have ffxGlow "0" in the config.wtf file to get the game to start (otherwise it throws up the blizz error report and terminates).
ffxGlow "0" causes rendering problems at the login screen, I

Use of CentOS logo on another wiki
I'm writing a short howto article for WoWWiki and thought it'd be nice to
add the CentOS logo to the page. I looked at Wikipedia and they have this
page with the logo:
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Centos_logo.png>
Note the issues mentioned there.
I'd like to use it here, on another MediaWiki-based wiki:

Cannot find DVD/CD drive...
The transition from Windows to Linux has been more or less painless for me, except for one thing; a game called Space Colony.
The WineDB lists it as Platiunum, Cedega lists it as something that can work, I had high hopes to get it working on at least one of these systems.
After I installed the program through WINE, it popped up the autorun menu and I clicked 'play' where I then got the

opengl32.dll problem running WoW.exe after new graphics card
Running Ubuntu 7.10 64bit, had World of Warcraft running fine under Wine with OpenGL, then my graphics card ate itself (Nvidia 7900GTX). Bought a new one (Nvidia 8800GT), but I had to monkey with the system in order to get the 8800GT to work. I'm pretty sure I messed something up trying to get the 8800GT to work as I had to remove the restricted drivers module. Now when I try to run WoW.exe

WoW on Ubuntu 10.04
Hi, some time ago i've installed WoW in Ubuntu 9.10 using wine 1.1.42 (wine1.2 ubuntu package). Everything fine, had a few fps problems but with some tips found in wowwiki i've manage to increase fps to about 20. Some users would say it's still low, but i was happy with it.
Well, some weeks ago i've updated to Ubuntu lucid (10.04). It's great, but my WoW fps drop down to about
