Is Winhlp32.exe supposed to work or not?
I anybody using winhlp32.exe with Wine?
I am using wine-20020327 without Windows. I have copied winhlp32.exe to
wine-c/windows directory and try to start the program there. When I try to
run "wine winhlp32.exe" it opens a window and immediately closes it. So far
I have tried Win95, Win98 and Win2k versions of winhlp32.exe with the same
result.

whats the status on winhlp32?
I am just starting to look into the help side of our application and wanted
to check on the status, especially with regard to the following:
1. We have to use the Microsoft winhlp32.exe; there isn't a Wine version?
2. It requires the native comdlg32.dll and/or comclt32.dll to get the Index
button to do anything
3. Even then, that will only bring up the index itself, not the contents

Version 1.1.2 CHM Documentation File
I finally got around to compiling the Rails 1.1.2 Documentation into a
CHM file this morning.
You can download the file directly from here:

Let me know if you encounter any problems with the file.

mount.cifs and permissions
I have set up a Samba 3.0.7 server (with LDAP password database), and it
works perfectly for Windows clients. Now we came to the need of
supporting one Linux workstation (with SAMBA 3.0.7 client already
installed) in addition to those Windows PCs. Kernel is 2.6.7 on both the
client and the server.
The problem is the home directories. Usually (without SAMBA) I just
share them via NFS in such

wine and windows help
I'm trying to determine if it's possible to use the help system of windows
applications running under wine and what I might need to do before it
works. I just started using wine again after a long hiatus. I only run one
application under wine, xmlspy. I'd like to get its help system working
under wine. If I select anything from the help menu nothing happens right
now. Is it supported?

How to set up help browser?
Does anyone have any words of wisdom for setting up the standard Windows
help browser?
I have an app with extensive on-line help, but the help browser only
comes up with the one intro page. The various tabs are there, but they
don't do anything....

Cingular/ATT killing my IMAP/POP connections with bad TCP FIN packets?
Hello all,
I've got an issue I'm almost positive is not related to Dovecot, but was
wondering whether anyone else has had similar problems or could
duplicate my results. Please accept my apologies if this is considered
off-topic or this issue is actually just a symptom of my own ignorance.
Also, sorry for how long this email got, I knew I wouldn't be able to

win95 & NT4 concurent access to paradox database
Hi,
I use samba for one year only, but with full satisfaction. Only with
latest cvs tree I discovered some (maybe particular) problem. In mixed
environment of win95oemII and NT4 workst (sp3 or sp4) we share some
Paradox 7.0 database on linux server (Rh5.2 and 2.2.0-pre1 kernel).
Paradox controls multiuser access to the data with three files:
PDOXUSRS.NET (user names etc?), and two lock files,

Opening/associating help files with native viewer, Mac OS X
Hi all,
I'm running the latest version of Wine for Mac OS X and I'd like to have help files open automatically with my native CHM viewer, iChm.
The command to open files from the OS X command line is pretty simple, and works fine for me. I tried to follow the steps on the FAQ under 'I want to associate some Linux program with a file type in Wine

Paradox 4.0 under RedHat 9
Hello,
I am trying to run Paradox 4.0 under Wine 20030618 on RedHat 9. I keep
getting a bunch of errors and then it breaks to Wine-dbg. I'm quite new
to Wine so I could use some help interpreting this. Has anyone heard of
Paradox running on Linux under Wine?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you.

Paradox 9 runtime
I'm interested in moving a client-server application written partially in
Paradox 9 onto an all linux platform. The server is Interbase, so that was
an easy transition thanks to IBPhoenix.
However, the client requires the Paradox 9 runtime which isn't available on
Linux. Wine seems like a possibility, but I can't find any evidence of
anyone trying it, successful or not. Has anyone out

Samba and Timeslips
Is there anyone out there who has any experience with running the
software Timeslips on a Samba server? Timeslips uses Paradox for its
DB.
I have one test site that is having problems that seem related to record
locking. And I have several more sites in the works that use timeslips
and want Samba servers.
I am already using : deny_oplocks /*.net/
So this should force Samba to let paradox

No video display, SuSE kernel-xen-2.6.11.4-21.7
Hi all
This is a strange one. On upgraging to SuSE kernel-2.6.11.4-21.7, I have
suddenly found that I loose the video on boot up! The video disappears
very early in boot, possibly while Xen hypervisor is starting, printing
out the physical memory map.
If you are patient and wait for the machine to reach run level 5,
the X server starts up and you get a picture back. You can then
switch back and

Paradox on a Samba share
I've been trying to get a program that uses Paradox databases over Samba
shares set up for a company here and I'm smashing my head into a wall.
This is a custom application written with Delphi/BDE accessing Paradox
tables on a network share. Previously they used Netware and all was
glorious until the box died, since they're version of Netware was

Samba vs. Paradox
Hello list,
i have problems using paradox tables (Paradox Level 5) via BDE
(4.01 and 3.02) on my linux server, but their performance is very
slow. At current, i'm using Samba 1.9.17p2 (and yes, i know this is
not the current version, upgrad is planned). The configuration is
very passive (locking for multiuser access to tables, direct write to
disk). Does anybody have a suggestion on how
