Very low FPS in Wine/Ubuntu vs WindowsXP
New on Linux and Wine. I like most of what I see. Here is one problem I don't understand. I run dualboot Windows XP / Ubuntu 10.04 LTS Lucid Lynx with Wine 1.3.6. Graphics - GeForce 9500 GT with Linux driver 195.36.24 Tested World of Warcraft and compared framerates in XP vs Ubuntu/Wine. With all parameters the same (same Config.wtf file with OpenGL set), same in-game options, same character,

low FPS in some cases
I have very interesting problem. In some games in certain locations FPS falls down to approximately 2 or 3. For example in "King's Bounty: the Legend". The game starts smoothly and runs smoothly, but when I enter some locations (training dungeon for example) the FPS becomes extremely low, if I quit this location fps becomes normal again. Changing graphics options to the lowest

Minimizing WoW - Painfully low FPS
I can play WoW perfectly, it is 100% stable and I can get great fps. One problem though, when I minimize the game and I maximize it, sometimes I can just keep playing happily but sometimes thats not the case. I minimize it, maximize it again and the FPS drops to about 10-20fps (anywhere). As you might know, this is VERY annoying, I've tried changing loads of settings in-game with no help.

[ubuntu 11.10] Wow with low fps
I have done some research and I haven't found any other answer but the following: > Tweak #1 > > The following from http://appdb.winehq.org/appview.php?iVersionId=5606 , a simple registry edit for Wine that dramatically increases the framerate in game for both ATi and nVidia users (reportedly, I have only verified with nVidia using Wine 0.9.22): > > Code: > regedit >

Low FPS in Wine games
My computer was working fine up until a few days ago. The games I were playing were getting 60 FPS or more. Then suddenly I rebooted to find that the games are now getting < 10 FPS. This happened a few times already, and somehow I've managed to make it go back to normal each time (last time I tweaked some nvidia-settings to fix it). I'm unable to get it to go back this time and also

World of Warcraft on Linux Mint or Ubuntu, a doubt
Hi everyone I used to have Linux Mint 8 Helena and World of Warcraft patch 3.2.x, like less than a year ago I play on private servers (just because there's no way of payment for blizzard servers from Peru), and i had a bad experience with wine 1.0 (or 1.1.33, i can't remember - the thing is that wine 1.2 wasn't released) My FPS were like 19-20 when in windows it goes at 60-65, in

460 GTX performance on SC 2
Hello, I'm trying to play SC2 with the following setup, and it's only playable with the lowest settings. I think I've already put in most of the tweaks that people typically point to. Can I get advice on how I can get reasonable fps for higher settings? Here's my setup: GTX 460 1GB Intel Q6600 2.40ghz Quadcore 3gb memory nvidia 260.19.06 wine 1.3.3 screen resolution:

Oblivion Low FPS
Hello I have installed Oblivion using 32-bit wine 1.3.33 on 64-bit fedora 16. However when I play the game I get only 1 FPS. Looking on the internet wine should run oblivion without a problem, so what am I doing wrong? I have run through the tweaks on the below link but to no avail http://www.fedoraforum.org/forum/showthread.php?t=194712 My laptop graphics card is only an intel Core Processor

Source Engine games - Low FPS (Wine 1.3.15)
The AppDB lists Team Fortress 2 as Platinum. It says it should run "flawlessly out-of-the-box." In Windows, I can max out all of the settings and get a steady 100+ FPS. In Wine, I have to set everything to Low, and even then, I still only get 20-30 FPS, occasionally dropping down into the 0-10 range when multiple players are on the screen. That doesn't sound flawless. Aside from

Low Framerate in Oblivion
I've been getting max 10 FPS in Oblivion, even with extremely low graphics settings. Any ideas why? I didn't have any problems with running Oblivion on Windows, and even for Wine this seems quite low. I think it might be my graphics card drivers possibly. OS: Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic GPU: nVidia 8600M GT CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2 GHz GPU Driver: Version 195 (I got it by going System ->

FPS Anomaly (screenshots)
When I run naiture in WINE (it is a Windows based program that I am trying to move to Linux/OpenSource) it says the FPS is like 500+ with just a block in the center. Yet the actual visual framerate is quite choppy: [Image: http://www.naiture.net/snap/wine1.png ] Here it is running in full, the reported FPS is more realistic: [Image: http://www.naiture.net/snap/wine2.png ] Why would the

Terrible FPS on Lord of the Rings Online (LOTRO)
Hey all I've been trying to get some good FPS on this game and I can't seem to get it work decently at all. According to the AppDB for LOTRO a lot of people seem to be able to push out 80-150fps on this game. I don't know how as I've scoured the internet and have tried every possible registry tweak you can imagine. I even tried niceing the process to see if it would make a

FPS limiter implementation in driver
Hi, I am French, so excuse my English sometimes... I dream about a FPS limiter included directly in my NVidia GC. Because I think that a non-marketing attitude should be to use a FPS of 30-35 in the majority of the 3D-games. In order to economize energy, heat production and improve system stability. And also to fight a few against some stupid marketing excesses. What do you think about adding
