The KJV
Hey all,
Does anyone know if there are any R packages with a copy of the KJV?
I'm guessing the answer is no...
So the next question, and the more important one is:
Does anyone think it would be useful (e.g. for text-mining purposes)?
I know almost nothing about theology,
so I'm not sure what kind of questions theologists might have (that R
could answer).
An alternative, that would

encoding lots of speech
I had lunch with an interesting guy who had gotten .com-money to record
the whole bible professionally with good actors (in swedish and english, kjv).
The idea was to sell custom made compilations of biblical texts on cd over
internet. The company is now out of money (surprise!), but all the material
is recorded (about 350 hours) and if anyone gets a good idea on what to use
the material to, it

as to why the phone numbers were not working.
I just called the number now and it is working.

Soundcard detection failing
Hello all! I'm as new to these forums as I am to Linux, so please bear with me if I fail some of the etiquette!
I'm running an Ubuntu 9.04 distribution. Sound has so far worked wonderfully in Ubuntu proper (playing music in Movie Player [current default] and through Firefox [Pandora] causes two streams to play; I don't seem to have issues with mixing!)

I'm a totally new user and debian is the only OS currently on my system. Thanks for the help and suggestions

[rfc] dsound: decrease sound latency
Hi all,
Please test this and let me know if it's causing any problems in sound
playback, preferably with media applications and games, any feedback
would be appreciated. The patch won't fix existing problems, it should
just decrease the audio lag. As such I would prefer only to receive
feedback on issues INTRODUCED or FIXED by this patch.
If it's causing issues, I want to know:

Problems running e-sword on Ubuntu
Hi. I'm new to Linux and I'm running Gnome 2.28.1 on Ubuntu 9.10. I've never used Wine before but installed it with no problem. I used it to install e-sword, which went fine but now I can't get e-sword to work. I can double-click the link on the desktop or i can single-click the link in the wine section in the applications menu, but nothing happens at all.
Can anyone help me to

E-sword and Wine
:(
I had E-sword 10.10 (latest version) running PERFECTLY on Linux Mint 12 Gnome 3 with WINE 1.3.28!!!
However, I had to switch computers. Now I'm on Linux Mint 13 Mate with WINE 1.4. E-sword opens, but gets a tiny error box that says "0." I have to click it about 4 times, then it says "Error opening Topic notes." And then the program opens, but you can't use the

e-sword under a tiling WM
I've been using pytyle, but it seems this condition is common to most tiling wms. Basically, some wine apps get handled (opensong and 'i wanna be the guy' are the ones that do on my system), but some don't, e-sword being one that doesn't.
pytyle does automatic tiling, fitting the windows in a defined pattern on the screen. It just does not see e-sword, somehow, but has no

e-sword doesn't appear to be entered in registry
Installed wine on KDE desktop of Fedora 16. I have wine 1.3.33. Then ran e-sword 10.0.5 installer which ran apparently correctly as there were no error messages. E-sword runs from the menu just fine, in that the program opens all the windows which all function as expected except for the search function. This returns no information although the dialog opens as it should and remembers search

To redirect any message into /dev/null
Hi all,
I'm running a script in my crontab like this:
*/50 * * * * /root/scripts/keepjobrun 2>&1 > /dev/null
However, crontab always sends a message to root (me) about the above script.
How do I stop it from sending any notification?
Thank you very much,

Building 1.1.23 on Red Hat WS 4.6 fails
As title, I'm having problems bulding it. The app I want to use doesn't work properly in 1.0.1 (tested in Ubuntu 9.04 and RH WS 4.6) but does in 1.1.23 (tested on Ubuntu 9.04).
Our production system runs RH WS 4.6, but there's no RPM package for 1.1.23 so I am trying to build it myself. The configuration and make depend work ok, however when I make, it builds a good chunk of stuff

Recommended Packages document
Fresh install of Debian Etch. Before I install wine (from winehq), I'd like
to double check something about the following document. I've only included
the portion refering to Debian.
http://wiki.winehq.org/Recommended_Packages
The document was last edited 2007-10-07 15:26:02.
My question is about the last comment about freeglut3-dev. Still required or
not, would there be any problems if I

Sword Project for centos 5
Hi!
Anyone know of RPMS for the Sword Project (and Bibletime and/or
GnomeSword) for Centos5/RHEL5?
Latest RPMS I've found have a ton of dependencies, some of which are older
than packages I've already got.
Thanks!

e-sword and other serious applications via wine
I realize that this is not exactly the right forum for this but here is my two
cents worth of comment about how e-sword now performs through Wine:
My Linux Distro is Kubuntu 10.10. My Wine version is 1.3.14. I run version
9.8.3 of e-sword. I use none of the separate e-sword modules that must be
purchased. The web site for e-sword recommends using Crossover from Code
Weavers instead of Wine. I

Juniper network--Ran under 0.9.58, fails under 1.1.23
I am running Mandriva. Under 2008.1 I ran wine 0.9.58 and ies4linux and using this was able to access my desktop at work via Windows Terminal Session which runs Juniper Network. Under Mandriva 2009.1, wine 1.1.23 is installed and everything runs until I try to access my desktop at work via Windows Terminal Services and the process hangs when dsTermServ.exe is begun and the window freezes and I
