does WINE run on MAC OS and OpenVMS
Hi all, I have two queries regarding WINE. 1) Is there support for VMS(OpenVMS) and MAC OS in WINE. I mean that can I install/build WINE over OpenVMS OS and MAC OS. 2) I have heard that WINE doesnot have support for WIN64 bit API's. Is this true that I cannot port WIN64 applications via WINE on Linux 64 bit. If this is possible for anyone among you then plz list the name of all the OS where

[OS X] How to link kernel32.lib.so with OS X XCode project?
Hi Please tell me how can I use parts of WINE / WineLib (mainly Kernel32 library implementation) in Mac OS XCode projects? I tried to link kernel32.lib.so with a test application, which used one of the Kernel32 functions - GetCurrentDirectoryA(), but got a linker error, which was not able to resolve this function :? The most puzzling thing is that if I run otool on Kernel32.lib.so, it says the

Hi, I'm developping an Adobe FlexBuilder plugin (it's an Eclipse plugin). This plugin is written in Java. But it use windows dlls that was created for some features of the plugin. And I try to port my plugin on MacOSX. I've one question about wine : - In java I use System.LoadLibrary to load my dlls, does Wine can help me for loading theses dlls under MacOSX? Does wine can map these

MacOS X cocoa and carbon for Linux?
Do you know about such implementation of the Mac OS API for Linux ? I was thinking would this be hard to be done ? Having in mind that the MacOS and Linux OSes have much more in common than Linux and Windows. The benefits of such projects will be great , as there is great diversity of applications for MacOS ,and if they can be used native in Linux there will be great advantage for all Linux users.

WineLib and Java Native Interface (JNI) - UNIX
Hi All, I have implemented a JNI library on window that call the C++ dll APIs. Now I want my JAVA program is run on the UNIX system. I have used WineLib to wrapper Window Dlls to the Share Object Lib (so lib) (Using Winedump and Winegcc to build). The functions in the so lib can work normally with my C main test function. BUT when I call it from Java. The function can linked BUT it is crashed at

Winelib 64 bits native support?
One of our projects currently uses Winelib as a way to build a native Linux executable from the same codebase as the Windows version of our software (we're gradually phasing out Windows API code and using wrappers, but it's legacy, even pre-dot com bubble, code so it's a long-term project). We're currently in the process of porting this software to 64 bits architectures so that it

[LLVMdev] Using LLVM to compile Objective-C on an Xbox 360
Implementing the backend (or editing the current PPC backend as needed) is a definite option. This seems to be the real question... which is easier... maintaining the PPC backend or maintaining the rewriter. Currently (in admittedly trivial tests) I have gotten the rewriter to work and output C code. There are some outstanding issues to do with linking and accessing the reflection information

By linux derivative I meant that it borrows the linux GCC ABI... and it does. You can compile with an off the shelf GCC cross compiler and link the resultant object files ones compiled with the PS3 provided version. We have done it. Also, as both an XBox 360 and PS3 developer, there seems to me to be nothing in the TCRs/TRCs that preclude us from using a different compiler. There are rules

OpenStep (NeXT) and TTY modes
OpenStep, apparently, does not initialize new pty/tty modes to a sane default. I'm thinking this code snippet, added to tty_parse_modes() before the for(;;) loop should suffice: #ifdef HAVE_NEXT tio.c_oflag |= ONLCR; tio.c_lflag |= ECHO; #endif /* HAVE_NEXT */ Also, I've noticed that "ssh -t next_host stty" gives different output than an interactive session to the same

Using wine dll in another native library
Hi All ! I have some windows-maked dll (xxx.dll for example). I want to use it on my Linux machine in my Java application. For this purpose I wrote a small wrapper around the xxx.dll by using winelib library and make it as libxxx.dll.so. Now I need load this library in my jvm (by using System.loadLibrary("xxx.dll"); ) but when I try to call any function from it I got

Can't load native dll
When I try to load winelib dll I get an error message: "err:module:MODULE_LoadLibraryExA Loading of native DLL <dllname> failed (error 193), check this file." The error message is printed for call: DllHandle = LoadLibrary(DllName); This happens even when I try to load standard Wine dlls, like dlls/msisys.ocx.so Did I miss something obvious? Thanks, Andriy Palamarchuk

[LLVMdev] Using LLVM to compile Objective-C on an Xbox 360
We are looking at using Objective-C/C++ in a new game engine.  Objective C's duality of being both very dynamic and very "C" gives us exactly what we need to make the SDK and engineering of games simpler. This means that we will need a way to compile it on all platforms our games will target.  Currently the major platforms we are concerned with include... PC, Mac, XBox 360, PS3,

llvm can output C code, but that target has bitrotted severely over the last few months and nobody seems to be interested in fixing it. You may need to do some work there. Alternatively you could implement the PPC ABI that you need. There are several examples of supporting multiple ABIs on the same hardware, x86 being the most obvious. A lot of simple stuff will probably Just Work with the

Porting with Winelib
Hi, I am looking into good way to port Windows applications to Linux and hopefully any other Unixes. I'd like to know about questions below. If anyone answer them, I'd appreciate it. 1. Can I use Winelib to port commercial application whose sources will be not disclosed ? 2. Is it possible to link Winelib statically with an application and distribute it ? 3. In case that I
