systray
dear, I'm running ubuntu Dapper with newest version of wine, and everything is fine. Only, if I start utorrent.exe via the session-manager of ubuntu (where I configured wine so it starts utorrent on start-up) I cannot see a system-tray icon. The same problem is for my UD-Grid device, I can't see 'm in the system tray. If I start manualy the program, it's all fine: even the system

Bug in viewport handling?
Hi, Is the following an (unknown) bug? Rhythmbox (RB) has an option for using a icon-tray. Restoring/minimizing to the tray in combination with switching viewports (VP) seems to confuse compiz. Steps to reproduce: 1. Start RB on VP1. 2. Minimize to tray. 3. Change to VP2. 4. Click the tray icon to restore. Result: RB is restored to VP2, while compiz changes to VP1. Subsequent clicking on the

systray apps invisible
I have a problem with applications residing in systray. The systray is always invisible, nowhere onscreen to be found. What the app starts I sometimes see a window showing itself and the immediately disappearing again. The applikation is running but I cannot access it. I have to start the app with desktop in order to gain access to the systray, but that surely cannot be the idea (as I do see

Can't load GDI from background service
I am running a win32 application that has a graphics and command line mode; I use the command line mode. When I login and run from a terminal, it works fine under Wine, but when I run it as a service via a script in /etc/init.d, it fails. I have it set up so the service runs as my account, not root. It gives the following messages: Application tried to create a window, but no driver could be

Running a wine app from a control panel.
Hello, I wonder if anyone has experienced this, or knows of a way to fix this problem I have. I am trying to host a game server that needs wine to launch. I can run the game fine through an SSH terminal using wine game.exe. I do get this message: Code: Application tried to create a window, but no driver could be loaded. Make sure that your X server is running and that $DISPLAY is set

wine-users Digest, Vol 66, Issue 120
Could you be more specific. If I need to make a connection to localhost then I am really confused. This is my first shot at wine so don't expect much in the way of knowledge from this end. All I was trying to do was pull up the wine configuration (menu?) and set the screen definition. Also, from the error message, it appears that there should be a system tray on the screen. If I minimize

WINE system tray appears randomly
Hello everyone, I am in the process of adapting my app so it runs well on WINE. My app creates an icon in the system tray on Windows (via the Shell_NotifyIcon API) and it sometimes starts a child process that itself creates another icon in the system tray. It typically starts during interactive user login. So I configured a system with Ubuntu 8.04 (and GNOME) to automatically start my app

utorremt systray
Hi I have found that utorrent doesn't display its systray icon unless I switch from dual screen to single screen. When I login to twinview the systray icon is missing but if I use nvidia-settings I can switch to a single screen. and back and have a systray icon. However if I restart utorrent it will be as before and no systray icon. Should I file a bug report here(bugzilla) or with

wine git hardy systray issue
I'm totally stumped. I'm running Hardy Heron and wine from git (I just updated about 3 hours ago) and I'm having the systray issue where wine apps in the systray just show up as blank space and you cannot interact with the systray icon. This issue was supposedly fixed in 0.9.60 and backported into the Hardy repos, but no matter what I do I can't get it fixed. I've tried the

Print spool icon in systray reports jobs pending when none are pending
I have an issue I'd like to resolve with a client and the print spool icon in the systray... If the user (on w2k) mouses over the print spool icon, it tells them "xxx jobs in queue" or some such, and the xxx increments once for each new print job they send. Also, the print spool icon never disappears from the systray until a reboot, or re-login. Once a job is sent to one of the

Palm Hotsync success...
Well, after having given up uppon serial communication from hotsync.exe to the Palm Vx, I decided to try network communication instead. I am able to perform a complete hotsync even with Netscape Calendar synchronization. I am not doing anything special to make it work but it is not straight forward, neither. I start hotsync.exe, configuring it for network access only. Then I start pi-nredir

wine-systray too small
I'm sure I'm not the only one with this problem, but I can't find any reference to it anywhere... When I start an app such as getright that minimises straight away to the systray, I get a tiny window with no icons, which my window list calls "Wine-Systray". I have to be super accurate to put the mouse in the right spot to right click on what should be the getright icon (but
