Pixel/Vertex shader status
Hi, I'm just hoping someone can tell me what's going on with shaders in wine. I have a couple of games that will run, but the 3D graphics are corrupted. The games are Clive Barker's Jericho, and Tomb Raider Underworld. They both start and the menu screens work, but the 3D graphics are completely wacked out. Re: Any Game is not working in wine. Why?
I "own" a Steam version of Tomb Raider Anniversary here and it works fine. For Underworld I need a little patch which I found somewhere in the wine bug-tracker (the mouse cursor is still a bit slow in the menu but the game itself is good playable). Here are my patches: http://ww.mxchange.org/downloads/wine/patches/ I need them on my 64-bit system to make it compile against ia32 libs

Using Wine - Random machine switch-off?
Hi, I'm wondering if anyone else is experiencing this... I'm using an ASUS X59GL using Ubuntu 10.10, 64 bit - 4Gb ram, nvidia Nvidia GeForce 8200M G (256Mb Graphics?) - I'm using the Nvidia drivers too... Hello, I tried to get Tomb Raider II (Gold too) running on Wine 20011108 (sorry, I know, that I am some years too late with that perhaps). It starts and asking for the CD (no problem). x86 vs x64
Tried with Ubuntu 9.04 x64 Tomb raider III - major slowdowns and breaks Crayon physics - no Breaks but very slow Counter strike 1.6 lower framerates (not much 3-5 fps of diference) Age of empires II a little slower, can't say if it is a wine regression or x64 fault haven't tried wine 1.20 on x86 yet. just wondering what to expect
is it reasonable to expect considerably playable framerates (30-40+) on gold or platinum certified games? i've got a high powered system (oc'd q6600, 4GB, HD4850), and so far what i've tried (vampire bloodlines and oblivion) have been 1-6 fps tops...am i really doing something THAT wrong?

This looks like the right idea to me too. It may sound a bit weird to do that per instruction, but d3d11 does that as well. (Some d3d versions just have a global flag basically forbidding or allowing any such fast math optimizations in the assembly, but I'm not actually sure everybody honors that without tesselation...)
