[LLVMdev] Cleaning out the Release Notes
Hi all, the release notes (docs/ReleaseNotes.rst) seem like it is
mostly a holdover from 3.2, (the removal of CellSPU is in there
though).
Would anybody be opposed to me cleaning this out so that the actual
changes from 3.3 are the only ones there?

newbie question on installation over existing Linux

that 'capability' was a holdover of the 1980s when disks were measured
in megabytes, and memory in kilobytes, so large file systems were
impractical.

Quick query on output
I am attempting to estimate a very complex glmmPQL model. I have
(apparently) gotten working syntax. But, I don't want to wait a long time
only to find I have not made the correct syntax to see the output. So,
what I've written is:
EXCERPT FROM COMMAND FILE:
glmmPQL(plfp ~ -1 + bmrd4 + bmsd4 + wmrd4 + wmsd4 + bfrd4 + bfsd4 +
wfrd4 + wfsd4 + y4yrsed + y4age + y4age2,

SIze of reformatted USB drive
I just reformatted an 8Gb USB drive as ext3.
While as FAT32, it was reported as having well over 7Gb free (did not
note the exact capacity).
I reformatted with mkfs.ext3 /dev/sda1
Now it is reported (oh, this is with properties in Nautilus) as having
6.8Gb capacity (free space actually).
Does this makes sense that ext3 has less available space than fat32?

postgres barfage revisted
First of all, I''d like to do what I''ve seen several others here do:
thank Ezra and any other contributors for producing a really great
plugin. Even though I''m having some minor problems, this is all so
approachable and easy to work with and dig into... I hate to think of
the hoops you''d need to jump through (both as creator of such a system
and as a user) to

Retrive data from repartitioned / reformatted hard drive?
Hi,
The title says it all. One of my clients showed me a 120 GB hard drive
that his daughter accidentally formatted, according to him. I booted the
first CD I had at hand - a Slackware 11.0 install CD - and launched
cdfdisk /dev/hda. cfdisk informed me that there was even no partition
table. So much for reformatting. cfdisk only shows me 120 GB of free space.
Any way to retrive data on this

IBM UniVerse database adapter for ActiveRecord?
I''m facing a situation where I am going to have to integrate with a
legacy database , specifically the IBM UniVerse database, which is not
*quite* relational. It feels like a holdover from the dark ages of
computing.
Before I attempt writing an ActiveRecord adapter, I''d like to know if
anyone else uses this database and if I''m the only person that needs
this thing. I

R getting slower until it breaks...
Hello R-users,
I'm currently facing a pretty hard problem which I'm hopping you'll be able to help me with. I'm using R to create images. That alone is not the problem, the problem is that I'm using R to create 168 000 images... My code (which is given below) use different package (raster and rgdal) to import a image (size 20gig) and divide it into 168 000 pictures that are

[PATCH] drm/nouveau/nvkm/dp: Add hack to fix DP 1.3+ DPCD issues
Currently we use the drm_dp_dpcd_read_caps() helper in the DRM side of
nouveau in order to read the DPCD of a DP connector, which makes sure we do
the right thing and also check for extended DPCD caps. However, it turns
out we're not currently doing this on the nvkm side since we don't have
access to the drm_dp_aux structure there - which means that the DRM side of

Can't find the cd drive
One month ago, I reformatted this drive and loaded suse Linux using a
dvd created from a file downloaded from Novell.
Linux seems to be running fine. But now I need to install a very old
windows program.
I THINK that I have downloaded, installed, and configured wine
correctly.
When I click on Applications, System, Terminal, Gnome Terminal and type
wine, I get a three line instruction that

Moving wine's C: drive to another file system
I have a question regarding moving Wine's C:/ drive to another file system. My hard drive is currently partitioned into 3 primaries. I have a NTFS partition that Windows is on, a Ext4 with Ubuntu, and a third, larger, FAT32 partition that I use to hold cross-OS data (music, pictures, documents ect).
I have had infinite difficulty getting wine to run apps that I installed (through wine) to my

Can't install program to another drive
I'm planning to remove Windows completely, but before I exercise this option, I want to be sure that I can install/run my needed programs under Linux using Wine. Granted I've been with Windows since the beginning, but after my experience with Vista, I have had enough. So, currently I have a dual boot setup for the moment, using Ubuntu 11.x/ Vista Ultimate (64bit). I have three hard disks,

Problem copying files to flash drive
I had an interesting experience this weekend backing up some flash
drives to another flash drive on my CentOS 5.2 home desktop.
My son had two 256MB flash drives and one 1GB flash drive that he
wanted backed up onto his newer 2GB flash drive. I used rsync to copy
the two smaller ones to the big one without any trouble, but when I
tried to backup the 1GB files to the 2GB drive, I started getting
