Re: Window Scrolling on OSX
Thanks for working on it regardless, all these compiling issues are beyond most of us. Everything is "easy" or "manageable" to fix as long as you know how! I don't know if it's available via Macports, but I imagine Darwine is rather tweaked for the Mac beyond merely being a straight port, I don't know if Macports would throw up similar compiler issues. Gamemaker 5.3 under wine on OSX?
I'm very new to wine, so please excuse my noobness. I'm going to be teaching a course on Game Design for non-programmers in the fall. The school is an all-mac operation, but I'd like to use YoYo Game's Gamemaker to teach the course. YoYo has a mac version in beta, but it is unclear if it will reach release in time for my class to begin. I know that the current version of

Re: Window Scrolling on OSX
I did read something about the Qartzdriver, supposedly by the guy who originated Darwine, but was built for older version of Wine... Don't know if there's current work being done on it. WineHelper is a step in the right direction, but ideally when Wine works better, it shouldn't open various log windows, process windows, and whatnot (while being available for debugging), and X11

Window Scrolling on OSX
I think this has been noted in previous posts by others, but I'm noticing it with post-version 1 builds of Darwine for OSX and I'm wondering if there's any way to fix it. The behavior is hard to describe but here goes: when using either Irfanview or Forte Agent, mouse activity in the Windows app causes the window to move downward on the desktop. Each click, the windows jumps

Wine, ALSA MIDI output ports
Hello everyone. I'm using Wine with the ALSA sound driver. I want to know how to specify which ALSA midi port is used for output. By default, it's using the Midi Through (65:0), but I want it to use TiMidity (128:0). I found this post on the mailing list: http://www.winehq.org/pipermail/wine-users/2005-July/018392.html And followed the directions appropriately, but it still continued

Wine Mac OSX Questions
If I'm reading http://thisismyinter.net/?p=29 correctly, there is no "current" (post 0.9.53) build for Tiger? Is a newer build available from a different site? Strange error porting from Core 2 Duo to Core Duo
I built an app in MS Windows with VC++ 6.0 (the one I'd like to port to the iPhone if you saw my last post). Both Macs have the same MacPorts version of Wine 0.9.56. It runs fine on Mac OSX Tiger Intel [Core 2 Duo] (MacBook Pro). But when I copy the files to the same version of Mac OSX Tiger Intel [Core Duo] (Mac Mini), I get the following unexpected extra text when I launch the app. I just

Using Linux Virtual Midi with WINE does not work
Hi, I have recently started using WINE with the wineasio driver to run my Windows audio apps. In Windows I did a lot of work using MIDI Yoke (a virtual 'MIDI cable' driver). The Linux equivalent is the snd-virmidi ALSA driver. I find, however, that WINE does not send MIDI messages throught the virmidi ports to Linux Apps. I have tried this on Ubuntu 8.04 and Puppy Linux 4.0 using WINE

OSX MacPort Install 1.0.1 - winecfg problems
I tried a binary install of Darwine last week but wasn't that happy and wanted to go for the more "authentic" MacPort install. OSX 10.5.6 Everything seemed to install properly, but the first thing I wanted to check was winecfg to set up the drives a bit differently. It didn't load very well as the first tab of winecfg loads (Application Settings), but the buttons at the bottom

MIDI default output port / how to select timidity by default?
Hi, Using timidity, I've been able to listen to MIDI files with Linux on a machine with an Intel 801/AC'97 chip. However, with Wine, I've had trouble. Log messages show that the first MIDI output port is used. This happens to be 'MIDI Through' 62:0, not Timidity on port 128:0. $ aconnect -ol shows the list of output ports. I have no idea what port 62:0 does (perhaps send

help with midi
Hi, I'm trying to update the firmware of a musical device using a proprietary windows app that wants to write to a midi port (the device is a TC Electronics Nova System). I have an M-Audio Uno USB MIDI interface on my Fedora 15 laptop and it is working correctly (I can successfully capture SysEx dumps using amidi, etc.). The output of `amidi -l` is: > Dir Device Name > IO

.NET 2.0 fails compiling assemblies on OSX
I'm running 1.1.1 on Mac OS X 10.5.4. I have searched about this issue and found nothing and people are running .net apps fine so I think this is a particular problem with Darwine (osx build) .NET installs fine via winetricks and then I can run simple .net apps like QuickGUIDGen, but having a look to the NGen log I noticed there were no assemblies installed (It's supposed to install

Passing arguments from the command line to apps on Mac OS X (Darwine and CrossOver)
Hi all, There's a Windows application I've been running (called "WinBUGS.exe") on an intel Mac OS X (ver. 10.5.5) using both Darwine and CrossOver Pro. My application runs fine under Darwine and also under CrossOver. However, in spite of being able to run these applications using either platform from the command line, I still cannot pass arguments to the application. What I want

Registry entry to change MIDI mapper changed?
I'm trying to get the MIDI music for the 1996 SegaSoft game Lose Your Marbles (http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=9196) working. The game itself remains Platinum under 1.3.34-- it runs great, without any overrides, and the sound effects work fine too... it's just the MIDI music that does not play, or rather, is not heard. I went to the Wiki and performed all

ALSA and MIDI
Can anyone help me get MIDI working with Wine please? I'm on wine-20050628, which I installed with the ./tools/wineinstall script. It's a pure wine installation. (I have a Windows ME partition, but I'm not using it.) I'm using ALSA with Linux 2.6.x. I installed Band in a Box - according to the application DB this works under wine, and indeed, it does load and display the main

Wine On OSX
I'm a new user of Wine (Darwine) on Mac OSX and wonder it it's necessary for the "Wine Log" to open each time I start up a Win app under Wine. The Log never shows any data and I'd just as soon not have to continually close it if there's a way to stop it from opening each time. Haven't found anything obvious in Preferences to control this behavior. Thanks in

That age old Midi issue again
I can run most midi apps in wine through timidity with no problem but there are quite a few apps which don't allow you to assign the midi output to timidity such as Media Player Classic or WM player 6. They try to use the windows default which is of course MS synth or Emu10k1. There must be a way of mapping the midi output in wine from such apps to timidity but I just can't get it to

No MIDI devices in wine
I'd want to run the windows editor for my guitar preamp (VOX Tonelab SE) which is connected to the MIDI in and out sockets of my soundcard. The program installs and starts without any problems under wine but it can't find any MIDI ports. MIDI works fine otherwise in Linux - I can read from and write to the sockets with arecordmidi and aplaymidi, but there are no MIDI devices visible
