Only one app keeps me on Windows - Can WINE free me?
Currently, there is only one application that is keeping me on Windows, and that is the TivoDesktop software that lets me DL episodes from my Tivo, and in conjunction with the DirectDump tool, allows me to convert those Tivo files to standard MPEG-2 files for editing. Does anyone have experience running TivoDesktop under any version of Wine under any distribution? I'm rather distro agnostic

Sipura SPA-1001 and Tivo Series 1
Hi everyone, I just got a Sipura SPA-1001 and have connected my Tivo Series 1 (yes its old). When I do a test call with Tivo, the call always fails (it seems to dial the number but never connects). I can pick up the phone line and hear the Tivo "talking". I've tried looking around for anything special I need to do but its still not working. I can connect a phone to the SPA-1001

Icecast2 and TiVo
Hey guys, As some of you may or may not know, TiVo recently came out with an optional software package for their Series2 TiVo units. They call it "Home Media Option" and, among other things, it lets you play mp3s on your TiVo. So, some clever folks figure out that if you fed your TiVo and m3u playlist that pointed to an Internet stream, it would play that stream for you. Very

Only partial installation? Context menu items missing :-(
Hi! I am very new to Ubuntu and thus also Wine. I installed, uninstalled and re-installed Wine a couple times while trying out Wine and some third-party apps like Wine-Doors. Now my trouble is... I just installed 1.1.16, but my context menu entry for Wine is missing. Moreover, when I now select "Open with other Application" from the context menu for a Windows app, Wine is not in the

Icecast in Macromedia Flash
Hey guys, Earlier in this thread Oddsock said that a player recieving metadata it did not expect would most likely produce blips in the output. Has anyone checked any of these network dumps to see if any metadata is being sent? A while back I reported difficulty with playing Icecast2 streams through my TiVo. I recently upgraded to Beta 1 and the problem still exists. I don't want to

TiVo is connected to televisions, and big screen TVs are very susceptible to burn in because of how

How do you make wine do real uninstalls?
I have tried installing various GPS/topo map software suites on four Fedora machines under wine. On three of them, the install claims to succeed; the suite fails even to launch; I try to uninstall it; the uninstall either admits failure, or pretends to succeed while leaving the software still there and clickable (but, of course, not launchable). On one, I then ran a Fedora search (beagle, I

Want to automatically park call and have caller hear ring tones
Here's the short of it. I have an Asterisk 1.2.1 system setup to handle both personal and business calls. Now, the business callers will hear music while on hold, so the default MOH needs to play regular music. Personal callers should hear rings, not music. I have this working except for one specific case. If someone calls during the day (we're night people), asterisk will not ring

Icecast in Macromedia Flash
Sorry, I forgot to provide the URL: http://macsym.free.fr/player So we are searching for somebody running Windows with Internet Explorer 5 or 5.5. Just click the link above and tell us if you can hear the music or not. If you see kilobytes are loaded but no stream is played, wait few seconds. To check your IE version, go in Help->About Microsoft Explorer. Thank you VERY MUCH in advance,

uninstall and (.msi files)
installed a program that initially worked ok, but has recently started misbehaving. on trying to uninstall it with the wine uninstaller, it just won't go. in fact the uninstall wizard just seems to install the program again, even if i delete it from program files. i have tried to delete all it's associated files etc. but then when trying a fresh install the wizard must still see the

[LLVMdev] Symbolized ASan output on Android
If running ASan on the host architecture, we can symbolize output with: export LLVM_SYMBOLIZER_PATH=`which llvm-symbolizer` ./myInstrumentedProgram but on Android symbolizing is more complex. The bash script below is a "hello world" for symbolizing ASan output on Android. Is there a simpler way to do this? # Execute the test and save its output adb push

[LLVMdev] LLVM-gcc for Ada
I'm having problems building llvm-gcc for Ada, which may or may not be similar to the trouble Andre was having recently. I'm trying to build it on Fedora 10 (32-bit), using the instructions on the web site. The make terminates with a gnatbind error: gcc -c -g -O2 -gnatpg -gnata -I- -I. -Iada -I../../llvm-gcc-4.2/gcc/ada ../../llvm-gcc-4.2/gcc/ada/gnat1drv.adb -o ada/gnat1drv.o

TiVO Desktop Support?
I'd REALLY like to go back to using Linux, but have gotten rather attached to being able to pull programs off my TiVO and play them back using TiVO Desktop. Looking through the list I see where this question has been asked a couple of times before, but no indication of an answer. SO - does anyone know how to setup Wine to run TiVO Desktop? Thanks in advance!

Question on best way of configuring this
I have a Windows XP machine that I don't use very often, but I leave it powered up because once in a blue moon I need to remotely access it (eg from work), and to keep the Antivirus software up to date. When I do use it at the console I'm mostly doing basic video editting or transcoding (eg from transferred TiVo content). I sometimes play older games on it (eg Carmaggedon or Worms 2;

[LLVMdev] ACATS

Do you know how can do it? Compiler vendors are expected to write their own scripts, which is not a trivial task. The "B Tests" have deliberate errors, marked with "-- ERROR:"
