Font anti-aliasing in wine?
One of the things that DOES make a big difference for me is font-antialiasing (AA). (OK, maybe I am picky). Does anyone have experience/knowledge on that subject? What surprises me is that for a few fonts (BitStream Vera Sans, for instance), it is active, whereas it is completely absent for most others. Why is that? (BTW, I just found out that I get the best results so far for the new MS font

No Anti-Aliasing in Warcraft 3?
Hello, Wine Users! I'm on Debian Sid (x86_64) using fglrx. Wine version is stable 1.4.0 The driver is working fine and I can play Warcraft 3 with 1920x1080 resolution with highest settings, getting about 100 FPS. Now, that's the fine part. Now the problem: I can't get anti-aliasing to work. It doesn't matter what options I select or deselect in the Catalyst Control Center,

Question about Anti Aliasing in FBO mode
Hello everyone I would like to know how AA works in wine, i.e. if I turn on AA in any game it wont work, the only option is to force it with nvidia-settings > override application settings. This does only work in backbuffer mode, trying to force AA in the FBO mode will crash the game or I just get a black screen. How can I use AA in FBO mode ? Is this option not introduced in wine yet ?

fonts in apps are anti-aliased in contrast to system setting
System: OpenSuse 11 with wine-1.1.2 Environment: MS truetype fonts are installed for SUSE, and the system is set according to http://en.opensuse.org/Optimal_Use_of_Fonts_on_SuSE, so anti-aliasing is disabled for font size under 13, the bytecode interpreter threshold is set to 18 points. Problem: The settings are working for native Linux programs, the fonts are sharp. However in windows

Re: Anti-Aliasing in Wine
Sorry for reviving such an old topic but is the newest and it's spot on. Is there anything new on AA in wine or do I have to choose between Slow backbuffer + AA Fast fbo - no AA ?

How to turn off Anti-aliasing ?
I have just updated my install of Wine and I notice that the config file is now deprecated, it doesn't get used. I want to turn off Wine Anti-aliasing. I was able to do it in the config file, but now I don't know. 'winecfg' doesn't have any such setting. Can it be turned off in the registry ? If so what is the setting ? Thankyou, George

Anti-aliasing?
I''m doing a graphics application and need onscreen anti-aliasing for both lines and text. Seems like wxGraphicsContext would do that, is that planned to be ported to wxRuby? Best regards, Jari Williamsson

How to disable font antialiasing?
Hi I was trying to run mu-online, I'm using wine 1.3.10 under kubuntu 10.04 The game installs(with vcrun2005,vcrun2008 and mcf42 from winetricks) But I can't see the fonts. To see the fonts I read I have to disable anti-aliasing, this was possible in older versions of wine, but for some reasons it was disabled, or moved, any idea on how I can disable anti-aliasing? It's not a

png(type='cairo'): point symbols without boarders are not anti-aliased?
Hi, It seems that anti-aliasing in png(type = 'cairo') is not well supported for the point symbols without boarders, e.g. pch = 16. The Cairo package works well, though. You can compare png() with CairoPNG(): png(): http://i.imgur.com/8niB3jX.png CairoPNG(): http://i.imgur.com/FZBJOxm.png f = function(dev, ..., main = '') { dev(...) plot(c(1, 2, 1, 2), c(1, 1, 2, 2),

[LLVMdev] Strange pointer aliasing behaviour
I think scev-aa does not succeed on the original example, because front ends do not put "nsw" on signed addition, so according to llvm rules addition can overflow and i can be < 0. Also, if original example used unsigned type (e.g. size_t, which is very common), I don't think ir can express the fact that i is guaranted to be >= 0. Another line of reasoning is that if

Aliasing of pointers from different address spaces
Hi, Elena, You're correct. We do assume that pointers in different address spaces can alias. Targets can add their own AA pass into the AA query chain, and one of the things such analysis passes can do account for target-specific knowledge of address-space semantics. For example, see lib/Target/AMDGPU/AMDGPUAliasAnalysis.cpp  -Hal On 04/26/2018 07:56 AM, Demikhovsky, Elena via llvm-dev

This is my wine day: subpixel-AA is here
This makes may day; it actually makes my week! I can't believe the genius wine developers have implemented subpixel font anti-aliasing in 1.1.12! All the apps look 100 times better now! I have opened Word 2003 about 10 times today just to look at the new beautiful UI! I have waited for this ever since I started using wine (~ 2006). This is my personal wine day! Thank so much, wine developers

Problem getting subpixel AA font rendering to work
Hi... I'm running Debian 5 (Lenny) and using wine packages from http://www.lamaresh.net/apt lenny main, which contains wine version 1.1.12. I've installed MS Office 2003 without problems, but when I start up word the fonts are choppy/blocky/what-have-you, but certainly not being AA. I came across a thread on this forum that suggested adding a file to the registry. I can do that on
