similar to: flight simulator in wine

I installed flight simulator 98 using wine 1.0 and have fonts that look like chess pieces and zeros. The pull down menus are ok, but the dialog boxes are unreadable. I have the *.ttf files installed in wine. Do I need to install directx from the flight simulator cd into wine? Do I need a specific font file or do I need set the path to the font file?

Anybody had any luck getting MS flight simulator running? I'm running Ubuntu 7.10 on Intel and got to missing the Winders flight simulators after someone just gave me FS-X. It starts to install fine until it asks for the second DVD, which it never sees. When I click the Retry button, it keeps coming back with "Insert Disk #2." Any ideas? the only game I'm really interested in playing that Loki doesn't have a port for is Microsoft Flight Simulator (any version). Has anybody had any success with any version of any flight simulator in wine? I have never tried wine but if I find out that it will do what I want it to, I'll put forth the time to figure it out.

Hello! I struggle to run the Game Gun from Wine 1.0. I manged to do the following with CrossOver. Through CrossOver 7.0.0 I installed DirectX. In the same bottle I insatelled Gun. I replaced the Gun.exe with a Gun.exe for a no-cd-crack. This works fine. Is it possible to di the same with Wine 1.0? Best regards Fredrik

Hi all, How does one set up different "bottles" like in Crossover office? Meaning how do I isolate an installation of Program A from Program B, when running under Wine? is that possible? That's a neat feature they have in Crossover, but I can't seem to find any documentation of how to do the samething in generic WINE. Robert

I know this is a pretty old game, but I feel like the problem is universal. Graphics settings for the game don't detect any graphics drivers other than a HAL display device. This is weird, as I've had other games like Ghost Recon work flawlessly with my card, which is an Intel GMA X3100 / GM965. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.
