similar to: COM ports are not getting locked

I'm trying to run different win32 apps with different configs. i was looking thru the man page and found the WINEPREFIX. i added export WINEPREFIX=$HOME/.wine.icad to my script that i use to launch my application. It seems to find it, but now i'm getting: $ icad wineserver: mkdir /.wine.icad/wineserver-atlanta.ga : No such file or directory ok, i obviously did not understand something.

I have two questions. In setting the COM ports someone posted that the Symbolic link should be ie... /dev/ttyS0 > com1 Is it suppose to be upper or lower case for COM1???? Hello! I want to have firewall/monitor in wine. Configuring Linux firewall is an external solution that affects all programs etc. The idea is to create configuration file for black- and/or while- list that would be analysed by wine during connections requests. The brute way is to modify ws2_32 dll source directly, but maybe there is more accurate way. Could you suggest where to start digging?

Hello, I am looking for a way to create an individual wine rpm of the actual src.rpm. My goal is a new winepfrefix, that is created when a user is logging in, that contains additional win-programs. But I did not find the path in the wine...tar.gz file, where the wineprefix is located. can someone help me? Is this even possible? I got Wine release 20010326 from cvs and compiled and installed it with ./tools/wineinstall I did some changes in ~/.wine/config (changed the path to my floppy drive). But it seems that wine is not reading ~/.wine/config. It still tries to reach the floppy drive through the old (wrong) path. Need to allocate USB0 to COM1 for Wintex 5.4 alarm software. Ubuntu sees the alarm panel (on device manager) on the usb port, but the software does'nt connect. Wintex software setup gives the options of Com1 to Com16. I have already tried: cd ~/.wine/dosdevices ln -s /dev/ttyUSB0 ./com1 Still not working. Any ideas?
