Hi there, I have my Samba, set up and running. My users are add and should be set up right. The problem is when I can't access my home directories from Windows XP Home Edition <http://www.linuxforum.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=179059#>. It should give me a login box right? .. but its not. It just gives me the error message that I don't have access to the folder. When I

[Feature-Request] syslinux in linux kernel format
Hi It would be pretty useful to have syslinux in linux kernel format so it can be chainloaded easy and directly by other bootloaders such as grub4dos. related topics: http://www.boot-land.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=7013 http://www.boot-land.net/forums/index.php?s=&showtopic=6119&view=findpost&p=59236

Re: samba Digest, Vol 76, Issue 10
Dear List, I wonder if somebody has a correctly working SMB service in Mac OS X Server 10.5.x. I've got here lots of "This process has forked.." and "Broken Pipe" errors as described in this post: http://www.afp548.com/forum/viewtopic.php?showtopic=22295 Would be nice if a Samba-guru could point us to the right direction. Thanks, Alex

2GB limit patch
Hi all, I was reading the discussion about this 1.3.0pre1 release on HydrogenAudio and someone linked an old thread in which one patched FLAC 1.2.1 to support WAV-files larger then 2GB. It might be worth investigating: http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/?showtopic=84014#entry725304

Regain play analysis patches
Hello Earl, I used your patches while they cleanly applied to the Git tree. There is one question though, what do you think of?. http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=84086&st=0&p=782407&#entry782407 which apparently states (if I understand correctly) that your approach is not completely correct. Kind regards, Michael -------------- next part -------------- An

flac alpha with RIFF/AIFF metadata support
just recently I have finished implementing support for saving non-audio chunks in RIFF WAVE and AIFF with the FLAC file in application metadata blocks, and restoring them when decoding. you can read about more about it here: http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=56968 the zip file there has windows binaries; CVS HEAD has everything checked in if you need a different platform.

Would Xiph be interested in a logo redesign for Vorbis?
So, in a thread on HA a user asked if some logo was the official one for Vorbis. It turned out not to be, but everyone agreed the official logo was ugly and a bad idea to add on any portable player compilant with Vorbis (or other Ogg media for that matter). The chaps, me included, started a discussion of a redesign, but truth be told, if Xiph isn't interested in a redesign, there's no

FLAC 1.3.0 released
There are several links to Windows compiles in the Hydrogenaudio thread for FLAC 1.3.0 at http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=101082 . On Unices or Linuxes building from git should be straightforward enough, or you wait until the distributions/package maintainers catch up. Also, congratulations to the whole development team for reinvigorating FLAC! Christoph On

[PATCH] Updating the ReplayGain documentation
In this topic on Hydrogen Audio(http://www.hydrogenaud.io/forums/index.php?showtopic=105586) someone asked a question about the sample rates that FLAC supports for ReplayGain. The outcome was that the current documentation of MetaFLAC is outdated since Commit http://git.xiph.org/?p=flac.git;a=commit;h=0554a4aee6966bc5b251364753ef85de72dfab19 because as of 1.3.0 FLAC supports Replaygain with many

R128gain & metaflac
I mention metaflac because there are a few shell scripts that use it to write RG tags in a flac music library on Linux. With support for Ebu R128 gain in metaflac (the calculation according to specification, not an external program) it would be easy to use, just change the cmd line for metaflac in the script. Now that metaflac supports sample rates higher than 48kHz this would be a good thing in

Patch for chain.c32: Set default boot drive to CD drive from which ISOLINUX is booted
chain.c32 of SYSLINUX 3.82 does set the boot drive passed to the DL register to 0x80 and not to the boot drive (CD-drive). This can be a problem if you want to chainload grldr (grub4dos bootloader) from a CD and if you want to let grldr search for its menu.lst file on the CD. For more info: http://www.boot-land.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=8457 This 1 line patch fixes the issue (Thanks to
