SqueezeBox, a new Mongrel handler
SqueezeBox is a simple file system based routing framework for erubis templates. It aims for a couple of niceties as well: Instead of putting your logic inside your template, like you would with PHP, SqueezeBox recognizes a separate logic file to be called before it loads the template. This allows you room to load ActiveRecord models or do calculations. These logic files return to the webserver

Hi Gregory, GM> Flac decode is VERY fast: GM> http://web.inter.nl.net/users/hvdh/lossless/lossless.htm Thank you for the link. Although I switched to flac for other reasons, these data appear to support my switch, given the hardware limitations I have. As I mentioned, I use a 400 mhz laptop in my office, and at home a qnap ts-101 running slimserver software. While quite usable, neither

Ogg/Vorbis fenced out of Apple's airport airtunes
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA256 re all, a quick message to ask if anyone had the same experience trying to play Ogg/Vorbis encoded music via wireless airport connection (the new system Apple uses to playback on their speakers via wifi). i use pulse-audio to interact with A's proprietary system: works quite well, but still has some buffering glitches, so its more

Flac HiRes decoding problems
Hi folks. My first post over here. While working on a music server optimzation (which ususally goes hand in hand with running pretty low buffers on realtime streams) I figured that certain HiRez flacs were causing XRUNS/hickups on my Linux server platform. The interesting thing is to run into XRUNS even though the stream gets send to a Squeezebox Touch which got a 20s buffer on its receiving

king fm m3u streams
Hi, Thanks, that helps. What I really want however, is an MP3 stream that can play on a WI-FI mp3 player. I know the m3u streams, but they wont play. I can find the stream for the regular KING HD-1, but not for opera or evergreen. SIP Conference phones
Greetings list, Does anyone have experience with SIP conference phones? I need to source a couple for a client, but I'm not really familiar with the market - i.e. what's available, what's decent quality, etc.. A cursory googling has led me to the Polycom Soundpoint IP4000 at around the ?450 mark - any thoughts on this? If anyone knows a good Polycom wholesaler in the UK, I'd be

logon script problem
Hi, I've a problem with "logon script" parameter: client doesn't run this script and i've no error in samba logs. I'm using samba 3.0.24 (etch) with windows XP SP2 client side. workstation was joined in domain and user login (using roaming profiles) is executed without errors. I used unix2dos tool to transform the script in dos way and if I run the script in widows with

load balancing and fault tolerance in networking
Hi! I''m studying load balancing and fault tolerance using multiple WAN interfaces. I follow the howto in http://www.ssi.bg/~ja/nano.txt but the problem is that faults detected are limited only in link between lan gateway and modem/router adsl, and none about adsl signal. Someone can tell me another howto about fault tolerance using a different method? (that solve my problem) I know

smbldap-tools problem
Hi! I'm installing Debian Sarge with Samba 3.0.14a-3, OpenLDAP 2.2.23-8, smbldap-tools 0.8.7-4 ( I tried with 0.9.x version also) It isn't the first time I install a system like this but this time I encountered a problem never seen: during user insert I have an error because of smbldap-tools do not find indicated group (but group exists!). So: SambaTesting:~/install#

Possible for Asterisk to output CLID to invoke 3rd party app?
Hi all, please forgive me relative lack of knowledge with Asterisk, but I've not played with PBX systems for a while and I'm just re-finding my feet. I've set up my first Asterisk server, I have it configured with a Digium X100P Analogue pots board, I have my Called ID working and everything is hunky dorey with the server itself. But. (and there's always a but) I want to pass

MP3 Tags in icecast?
Hello! Maybe this question has been asked many times before, but searching the archives of the last 2 years I did not find an answer. I have installed icecast2 and darkice on a PC running on Ubuntu 12.04. Streaming works fine on both other PCs, players and even Squeezebox Radio. There is only one problem: the players do not show the MP3-Tags of the songs played. Is this a property of the

Compression of existing FLAC files
Hope you can help, I'm quite new to this, so... I got a Squeezebox 3 and started ripping with Easy CD-DA Pro to FLAC, and set compression to 0 in the ignorant belief that compression might degrade the file. Now I've got over a Tb of files that I plan on migrating to larger drives. In the process, I'd like to apply an appropriate level of compression. Is there a tool and

Nullsoft Vorbis Decoder v.1.11a Bug Report
Hi, there. While waiting for the encoder RC1, I will report some minor problems I experienced with Peter's Winamp decoder. First, I am using Nullsoft Vorbis Decoder v.1.11a with Winamp v.2.76 on Windows 98 SE. 1. When the buttons of Playlist Editor are extended, the part extended in playlist screen seems to be flickering when an Ogg file is being played. 2. I check the option of

mboot.c32/Xen compatible
Hello all, I'm new on the list and hope this question isn't out of order. I'm booting Xen with mboot.c32 but with 100mb/s cards. I want to upgrade to 1000mb/s. I haven't got the biggest budget to trial and error new network cards so I'd like to buy the right card first time. I think this can be a bit tricky from 100mb/s card experience.
