Have been looking for an alternative to OneNote which will run on CentOS. I've looked at Evernote, but it's support for Linux is emerging (supports Android, but not other flavors yet). We have a user trying to share a OneNote 2007 notebook and it takes minutes to load a 20 KB notebook. I've opened a 500 KB Excel spreadsheet from the same share and it took seconds. When I try to start notepad, it starts with a grayed title bar, like it wasnt active. I cant enter text into the input window. Strange thing, menus work. To get it look like active and type text, I must select the system menu and "About wine".
