Installing napster on a WINE on system.
I am having installing Napster on a system with out windows. I get to almost the end on installing the Windows Audio Format files, and then hangs. I can get the install to complete if I cancel the WMA support, but then napster refuses to run. Anyonw know how to do this? I tried both wine-20010216 and todays CVS. -Dan de Haan

Napster 4.6.3.4 nearly running!
Hi Guys, I think I've nearly got the latest version of Napster running. I've installed WMP10 through WineTricks and then installed napster running in Windows XP compatibility. Napster installs fine and runs but complains about cookies not being enabled in the browser, which is preventing me from logging in. I've tried installing IE6 through winetricks then changing the privacy

napster
Would someone who has tried napster 2.0 beta 9 comment on how well it works under the influence of wine. Although I often download with gnapster, you can't share your files. If no one shares, there's nothing to download... Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/

Napster.......
Hello all. I'm new(ish) to the world of linux and am about to finally make the plunge and ditch windows completely. However, there's only one program that I want from windows that I use regularly and that is napster for it's music subscription service. It really is a brilliant service as the choice and variety can't really be matched. Now, I don't know if this is the right area

OT: WinNT(2000) player to open files with unicode names?
Sorry for posting somewhat off-topic... Most my music files have names in hebrew (FAT32 partition). I dual-boot between a hebrew win98 (where these files are opened nicely by winamp, freeamp and any other program) and a hebrew win2000, where windows media player is the only program I've seen so far to open them. All others say "can't open file ???? ?? ???.ogg" (or .mp3) - both

How to Remove DRM from WMA WMV
What is DRM? Why do we remove DRM from WMA WMV ? Have you download music and video from Windows Media Player, iTunes, Rhapsody, Napster, bearshare, Spiral Frog, BBC iPlayer downloads? These popular WMA music and WMV movie download programs among the music fans always come with a disgusting word - 'DRM'. DRM (Digital Rights Management) - The anti consumer copy protection that prevents

Vorbis in Windows Media Player 9, (partial) success
As I said on http://wiki.xiph.org/ClientSupport I managed to get WMP9 under Windows 2003 to work with OGG vorbis files. Requisite : OggDS 0.9.9.5 - they can be opened with the Open... dialog and WMP does not complain any more that it is an unsupported file format - they can be dragged from explorer into WMP and WMP will play them without any complaint - they can be added to the media library.

File sharing (napster like)
Hi, Here we go, lots of questions... What about Filesharing clients as Morpheus (Kazaa) or winmx? Do this clients work with wine? With or without an installed windows? I've tested all of them with current release and cvsbuild (without installed windows), install worked, but I'm not able to run winmx and morpheus crashes (null handler or something like this). Is there a demand for the

Vorbis streams on Windows Media Player
I was under the impression that Tobias's Direct Show filters would allow Windows Media player to play Ogg Vorbis streams, but after testing it here, apparently it doesn't. Does anyone know if there is anyway of making WMP play vorbis streams? The company I'm involved with who will be creating thousands of internet stations will most likely need WMP to play the streams, since it is

WMP blues :^(
Hello Everybody, I'm having the strangest problem getting WMP 10 to stream from my icecast server. I'm currently serving two streams - one is a 128kbit/s mp3 stream, the other is a 32kbit/s mp3 stream Even when explicitly declaring the stream type to be http in icecast.xml , the 32kbit/s stream buffers *VERY* slowly (it takes about 3-5 min) in WMP before finally playing.
