For those that have the sims 3 have you had any luck with the game at all? I looked at the sims 2 page and going off of that it does not look too promising :(

But after that, I switched to Fedora and start using Fedora's Wine. Some programs load successfully, but not DirectX. As I said before, everything was normal in Gentoo, but not in Fedora. Hi, I'm having trouble running 3d apps including the Direct3d test in Dxdiag under wine. I think that the problem is that dxdiag displays my Graphics card as this: X11 Windowing System This is obviously wrong because I am running this on a Radeon 2600 Pro. When I try to run the Direct3d test It just crashes Wine. I am running the latest 8.04 Ubuntu with the Latest Fglrx Graphics drivers.

wine dxdiag.exe spews a few fixme messages (Related to ALSA drivers) and then exits. No Window, no error messages. Till now, this wasn't a problem (several games ran fine) but when I tried installing a legacy game (Grand Prix World by Microprose), it could not detect my graphics card. Hi, I am running wine 0.9.58 and having problems running Counter Strike: Source, Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield. I think this is caused by the direct x layer in wine. My system runs opengl programs fine using the ATI driver (Radeon 3850). Is there any way I can test directx functionality without having to download a game? Dxdiag.exe is not included in wine. I need to register dxdiag.dll to run Final Fantasy XI, but the program regsvr32.exe can't be used to do so because I cannot input any command line codes for Darwine... I'm a bit new at using this so I'd like to know if there's a way I could register this DLL or use regsvr32

Well the problem is, that in dxdiag 3D tests it shows just very fast spinning (that should be, shouldn't it?) cube, but with no DirectX texture on it, just a white cube. I have nVidia 8400MG.
